The Bosphorus is Indiana's first Turkish cuisine restaurant. We offer a variety of authentic Turkish. We offer a wide variety of vegetarian and halal menu choices. Located in Indianapolis’ historic Fletcher Place neighborhood in walking distance from Fountain Square. Our restaurant features beautifully hand-painted designs on floors and ceilings, creating a cozy atmosphere.
The menus clearly state that halal food is served. All food at this restaurant is certified halal.

The best halal restaurant to sit and dine in INDI. I went there many time with 2 ppl company. I like to order the appetizer combo which is very good. they have a superb lentil soup with a side of self made beautiful bread. for the main course I like the Bosphorus Special. It is a mixed grilled combination of chicken kebab, kofte, doner, shish kebab, Adana kebab and chicken Adana kebab. It is perfect, just perfect. The place is cozy and the owner is very nice. for desert they have baglwa which is also perfect.
do not expect that much tastiness and quality you've found in Turkey. Compared to the taste of the food, the price is expensive.
Waiter assured me that beef and lamb is halal, but not chicken. Little surprised by that seeing as how chicken is usually easier to get halal. they do sell alcohol so be aware of that. I had the doner kabob, it was excellent. Highly recommend.
not zabiha
From what I hear, this restaurant is not ZABIHAH. I won't eat there...
The food was excellent! It's located in a nice classical style home - very charming with a lot of character. The food was prepared fresh and was delicious. I ordered the Doner kabab gyro. I would say it was the best I had ever had. The restaurant was clean and the owner is a very nice guy. Would definitely recommend!
I was very disapointed in this resturant. The staff did not speak good english and could not verify that the meat was zabiah! So I asked for no meat in my meals. Because I am not from Turkey, I didnt understand the meal discriptions. I orderd food without meat and yet they served it with meat! I couldnt eat anything. Also they now serve wine there. I am disappointed because I was looking forward to a nice dinning experience
My husband and I visited this restaurant during Ramadan this past year. It was delicious! We walked out very full and happy with the service and the atmosphere. Much recommended!
The atmosphere is cozy and the service is friendly. The owner enjoys talking and will tell you what is halaal (pretty much all the meat minus the chicken). The food was delicious. No complaints about the service.
My husband and I decided to try this restaurant and boy were we surprised! We went on Saturday (10/23). It looked a bit dark from the outside, but it was raining earlier. The food was absolutely divine! We have a few Turkish places at home in South Africa, but this one was superb! The service was good and we had a full course meal without complaints. The atmosphere was nice and we left there feeling very content. Thanks!
