This was our second time having their food and both times quite memorable. The first time we got take out to give it a try and everything was fantastic. The lamb fell off the bone and everything was fresh and well balanced. As per usual in that region, lots of rice and bread, but well done. We ordered for pickup, but accidentally had it delivered to there other location but they adjusted without any hiccup. Very much appreciated. Now we can in person and the 8 of us had nothing but good things to say. Fish was wonderful and the lamb was again tender and well seasoned. Even the ones that did not usually prefer lamb very much enjoyed the dishes. We will certainly be coming back. Thank you!!
Great Yemeni cuisine! Great place for Yemeni cuisine. Servers were very nice. Only issue is that we got our rice plate toward the end of our meal when we were almost done with our dinner and we did order all our food at the same time. There were 2 of us dinning. This restaurant has a very nice cushioned area near the back, to dine in, for larger parties.
First time ever trying Yemeni food and it was flavorful. Lots of accessible dishes of meat, rice, and stews. Opt for the group tables on the floor. Very comfy and communal. The portions are large and we got enough food for 3-4 people, easily.
By far, this is the best Yemeni restaurant that I have tried in the United States. Nine years since I’ve left Yemen and I haven’t had anything that has reminded me of back home. The service was beyond fantastic, Malik Al Zubaidi served us and made our experience a whole lot better. We met the owner and we were treated very generously with complementary sweets and adeni shai - it was all very delicious. Out of every Yemeni restaurant I have tried in North America, this one was certainly THE best.
House of Mandi LA is a hidden gem with a uniquely authentic design and atmosphere. The setting feels genuine and traditional, creating a perfect escape. The food is absolutely delicious, rich in flavor, and prepared with care. If you’re looking for an authentic dining experience, this place is a must-visit!
This Yemeni restaurant offers a spacious, thoughtfully designed dining area and friendly service, making it a great halal option in the area. The portions are generous, and while the food was flavorful, some items, particularly the rice, didn’t feel as fresh as I’d hoped. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would love to try something on the menu again.
We came as a group of four on a Sunday and had no trouble getting a table. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a shared mixed haneeth and though it said it was for 3 people, it definitely was more than enough and we all were able to take some home. The flavors were exceptional! We shared a few appetizers as well and both the sambosas and mutabbal were incredible. The Yemeni tea was also a nice after dinner treat. I definitely recommend bringing a bunch of your friends!
I highly recommend this place! As a Yemeni, I can say they did a fantastic job of bringing a taste of Yemen to LA. The food, service, and hospitality were beyond exceptional. Malik was incredibly attentive—he noticed how much I loved the bakhoor and brought it to our table, adding a warm, traditional touch. Parking was easy, and I’ll definitely be going back!
