Deliveroo order: Kari laksa with tofu (8/10) Nasi goreng with prawns (7.5/10) Roti with chicken curry (4/10) The laksa was very good - the broth was rich with a deep flavors (not just curry paste and coconut milk like banana tree), the egg noodles were thick and chewy, and I love that it came with a decent amount of green vegetables. Could’ve used more tofu for the price though. I would reorder though my favorite laksa in the area is still tukdin. The nasi goreng was another winner as it was overly sauced or salty and was light but flavorful. The prawns were juicy and cooked perfectly and I liked the fish cakes/fish balls. My only gripe is that it was quite oily for nasi goreng, with a decent amount of pooling, shiny, red oil at the bottom of the box. The one disappointment was the chicken curry that came with the roti. I had no issues with the roti as it was chewy and flaky (though also a touch oily), but the chicken curry was not worth eating. There was a half inch of oil covering the curry that couldn’t even be mixed in or incorporated into the curry. I spent 10min spooning it out. When I got most of it out the curry underneath was quite bland and flavorless, as was the chicken (though I will say the chicken was cooked perfectly: tender and fall off the bone, but flavorless). Overall, I was happy with the food (other than the chicken curry) but I’m not dying to reorder anything. May try other items next time instead.
