I stopped by Duo Tacos around 12 PM and immediately noticed it was packed which is usually a good sign when trying a new food spot. After arriving, I placed my order using the kiosk and went with the blackened salmon tacos, adding shrimp as an extra. The tacos came topped with purple slaw, cotija cheese, jalapeños, and a house dipping sauce. Since everything is made fresh, my order took about 30 minutes (ready around 12:30 PM). The wait felt a little long, but understandable considering how busy they were and the food being prepared fresh. Customer service overall was great, even though service moved a bit slower due to the crowd. Now let’s get into the food 👇🏽 The portion size was solid they definitely didn’t skimp on the salmon, and the shrimp add-on ($5 for three medium-sized shrimp) was a nice extra. Flavor-wise, the tacos had potential, but I did notice the salmon still had skin on it, which took away from the experience for me. I also would’ve liked a stronger seasoning on the salmon and shrimp themselves because the spice level ended up overpowering the natural flavors. The sauce, however, added a slight sweetness that balanced things out and gave the tacos an interesting twist. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and appreciate the fresh food and generous portions. I’m a big Mexican food lover, so I’ll definitely be back to try other items on the menu and see how they compare. Worth a try fresh food, good portions, and I’m curious to explore more of the menu on my next visit.
