Visited Buddies for the first time today and I have to say, I’m really impressed. I’d always put off going because of the negative comments I’d seen about the place on social media, but I’m so glad I finally tried it, honestly wish I went sooner. I ordered the Variety Box through the app, which worked out cheaper, and picked it up in store. It did take around 20 minutes to make, which felt a little long considering I was the only customer there at the time, but I’m guessing they had online orders to deal with as well, so it’s understandable. The only downside for me was the customer service. The lady behind the till didn’t really acknowledge me when I came in, and I had to let her know I was waiting for an order. She just said “wait a few minutes.” It would’ve been nice to get a friendlier experience, even something simple like “thanks for ordering” or “enjoy your food” would have made a difference. That being said, the interior was really nice and clean, which gave a good first impression. Now onto the food. The Variety Box comes with a drink, the cup looks huge, but don’t let it fool you because it isn’t filled to the top. The burger was decent and good value for money, although I personally thought the bun was a bit too thick for a single patty burger. The donner was good, and the wings were amazing, especially the BBQ wings. The Naga wings were nice too, but I couldn’t really taste the naga flavour, they tasted more like creamy wings to me. Unfortunately, the chips were the only thing I didn’t enjoy. They were dry and had a slightly stale texture. I was also a little disappointed with the packaging. It came in a PFC box instead of a Buddies-branded box, which would’ve been a nicer touch. But apart from that, the food was good overall and I’d definitely come back again.
