The cashier is extremely rude and disrespectful. Although i have gone here all my life, it would be nice if they cleaned their shelves and floors once in awhile. They should constantly restock their shelves and take out the expired stuff. Meat is clean and fresh.

The only good thing about this store is their roghani afghan bread for under $3 a loaf. Service is horrible and the owner is extremely rude and won't talk to you if you are not Afghani. I will not return.

the two old people at the cashier are at some times rude, but the bakers are nice and the bread is so good!

Oh my god, these people are so incredibly rude! I will never step foot in that store again. The lines are long, the music is loud, they won't spend a second to see what you want. Here is what you ordered, now get out. There are other stores that provide Halal meat!

i have been a customer at maiwand for years. their service is excellent...they are very friendly, and although they may seem rude at times...how happy happy joy joy would you act if you were serving a long line, not so aware i suppose?..they are very nice and helpful,and about the bread...i notice that there is always a long line and it seems as though people are cutting, but in most cases, they have just ordered their bread over the phone and it has happened to me so i know, also they have much entertainment there....they have a tv....music.....chairs...what else do you need?....they also have nice people working the register.....the little old nice man...and the pretty little girl...they are all nice....i am not even fluent in farsi...as i am half pakistani...so i dont even understand half of what they say..but i still feel welcomed.

I went there a few times, and it does not seem as bad as the previous reviews are giving. In fact, it is the best grocery store I have found in this area in terms of variety and price-wise. The service was also good, even I don't speak their language.

Does anyone know for sure if the meat here is Halal? This website says that it is unverified, but I have always gotten my meat from here, and I would like to be sure. And, you do have to wait a long time for their bread. The workers always let others (friends and family I assume)always cut in line, and people seem to order like 10 breads each, so you are always waiting, and then they let others cut in line, which they should not do, because eveyone else has to wait their turn, so can their friends and family.

I have been in there a few times. Each time I go there im treated in a rude manner. I will not give them another chance.

When I go there, I have the feeling that I am a sranger there and all others know each other ... and therefore, I am not considered welcome! I am not sure if they are rude, or just don't know how to provide customer service because once you start talking to them, they sound very nice! although they never initiate a talk. Unfortunately, they make no effort to learn the alphabet of customer service. And I can't beleive that they call us "stupid people who give stupid reviews" and then ask us to go there again! I must confess that I go there because they bake excellent wheat bread!

hey..listen...i am from maiwand...and our meat is cleaner than it will ever get...our service aint rude and our store aint dirrty..so if u have a problem...juss...shop at pamir..cuz i can care less where stupid people that give stupid reviews shop!Maiwand is top notch....so if u cant handle it...GO TO FOOD FO LESS AND GET YO MEAT THERE!THANK YOU...PLEASE COME AGAIN!

I would recommend that you call ahead to ask if they have the meat that you want. I went there one Sunday night and found that they were out of Chicken and pretty much all other meat.

Its a Average Halal store little expensive and people who cut/give meat are very rude..well theres not many good alternatives around so we still have to go there.. Hopefully we should have some more halal stores in Bayarea which are less expensive and provides good halal meat.
