Living within the Turkish community in London, a word of caution about Turkish restaurants. The owners being Muslim, or verbal assurances from staff is not enough to be convinced that food is Halaal there. I have often asked staff if it is Halaal and have been assured, but if probed further they admit food is Haraam! (May Allah guide them and have mercy). Apart from Aziziye restaurant in Stoke Newington where we know the restaurant is linked to the Mosque and the owner Ebrahim searches for Halaal meat, I and many other practising Muslims do not go to any other Turkish restaurants although we hear from non-Muslim friends that many are better. Just a word of caution as one Muslim to others.
Unequivocally the best Turkish restaurant in London in terms of cuisine. The food is great and the atmosphere relaxed. The lamb and yoghurt soup is superb served with warm bread. Generous portions and great staff.
Easily the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a very long time! Where to start. The food is excellent - we had the Selale Special. Beautifully presented and delicious. The seating is very comfortable and there are tables to suit everyone from large groups to solo dining. The staff are friendly and highly competent, engaging and intelligent. Portions are very generous.
