I visited Saray Turkish Restaurant at the V&A Waterfront and had a really lovely experience overall. The atmosphere immediately stood out to me — warm lights, a calm ambience, and the beautiful views from the Waterfront area make it a great spot to relax after a long day of exploring. The décor feels authentically Turkish without being overwhelming, and the staff were welcoming from the moment I stepped in. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional Turkish dishes, and the portions are generous. I ordered the mixed grill platter, and the meat was tender, well-seasoned, and full of flavour. The lamb especially stood out — juicy and perfectly cooked. The freshly baked bread and dips were fragrant and warm, and the hummus was rich and creamy. The rice was soft and paired well with everything on the plate.The service was generally good, although it was a little slow at times, especially when waiting for drinks or trying to call a waiter over. That’s the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Otherwise, the staff were friendly, polite, and made sure we had everything we needed once they approached the table. The view of the Waterfront adds a special touch — you can dine while watching people walk by and enjoy the energy of Cape Town. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys Turkish cuisine. Overall, Saray is a wonderful place to try if you’re at the V&A Waterfront and want something flavorful, cozy, and comforting.
