Today, I visited MA Brothers( 173 Elswick Rd, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 6SR )and, unfortunately, had a deeply upsetting experience. The lady at the counter, identified as Ahayat, made openly derogatory remarks about Christians, and non Muslims referring to them as “infidels,” in front of many customers waiting to pay. Hearing such comments in a public space was not only disturbing but also deeply traumatic. It is particularly troubling to encounter this level of intolerance in a country that upholds values of respect, equality, and religious freedom. As the person at the counter, she was representing the business, yet instead of professionalism, she chose to spread hatred and disrespect toward people of another faith. Such behaviour reflects a concerning mindset that fosters division rather than community. I strongly urge the relevant authorities to look into this matter and take appropriate action. At the same time, I encourage fellow Christians and all people of goodwill to consider carefully whether they wish to support a business where such attitudes are expressed without hesitation or accountability. Respect for one another’s faith is essential for peaceful coexistence. Incidents like this should never be ignored, as they undermine the harmony we all seek to live in.
