Food is overcooked and tasteless, portions are laughingly small and the prices are outrageous for what you get. There are better places in Albany to get kabob or shawarma wraps.

I went here in July 2012. Expensive and tastes funky (not in a good way). We ordered lamb shish kabab sandwiches. For the price of $8 I was surprised when I got a round item in foil. Hamburger? What happened to nice long shawarmas? Well, they use those round little pita breads...so it was tiny for the money. The lamb inside tasted like fake vegan sausage. We ordered a side of rice. It tasted like Uncle Ben's..not a hint of Middle Eastern spices. Plus, at the tune of almost $5, it was literally one scoop inside a small styrofoam container. I won't be going back.

Ambiance: Very dark, lightly decorated, and has a very intimate ambiance appropriate for romance. Menu: Traditional Meditteranean/Pan-Arabic Cuisine Price: A little expensive, but considering rarity of Arab Restaurants in the capital region, its somewhat justified. Quality: Average, nothing spectacular or particularly abhorrent. Decent for a capital region restauranteur, not as fascinating for a NYC guy. Verdict: Come if youre curious about the food or are wooing a potential mate. For soft halal practitioners, the owner says its halal. For stricter folk, vegetarian dishes are just as pleasant.

I've been there and asked if they served 'halal' meat and the owner said yes. However, food is very bland and tasteless as well as overpriced. Would not recommend.
