On Sunday, Oct 27, 2013, I went to this Afghan Halal Kabob House for take-out buffet food. I was told that their credit card machine was not working and to pay cash. I did not have sufficient cash, so I offered to write my cc#. The Afghan lady on the phone told me to go to an ATM and get cash. To which I ask who will pay the ATM fees. She shot back, You are getting the food not me. As the owner this was rude & unprofessional response to me her customer.
Chicken kabob, in my opinion, is not kabob; only lamb counts as kabob. But their chicken kabob is GREAT! Place highly recommended!
When we walked In I was not thinking of staying. The place is not clean looking but we stayed because of other good reviews. I'm glad we stayed because the lamb chops were good and so were the gyros. Everything was fresh. Even the bread was being made fresh in front of us. The owners are really nice and she even gave our kids lollipops.
I always go here after juma prayers, really tasty kabobs and good service plus their chick peas are amazing !
My fiance and I were craving a late night kabob we drove to several places until I found this one. was skeptical at first but boy oh boy did the chicken sandwich turn out to be a pleaser... it tasted amazing and was the best.
This place has the best gyros in town. I have tried so many places but I also endup coming there for gryos. The place is clean but its location is not very clean (you'll know when you get there). Their chicken kabob is tasty but the rest of the menu seems average. I tell this to everybody since the only thing higher than the divorce rate in united states is the constipation rate. Ask them to make you a SPICY gyro and my friend you'll be thanking and making dua for me the next morning or two (it sure burns like hell but cleans you out, lol, i know i know).
Had the Gyros sandwich and it tasted great. Service was good and the place was neat and clean. Prices are a little on the higher side, but its still worth checking out.
We ordered chicken and kobeideh kababs and they both were tasty. The lady at the register was humble. Seating is limited.
These guys claim to have the best Gyros in town, so I went there. Not bad, but definitely not the best. Sandwich size is pretty decent. I'll come back and try the weekend buffet.
The hummus didnt't have much taste but their kabobs are really tender. Their sandwiches are flat out awesome. I highly recommend the chicken kabob sandwich.
the owners are so nice! they take really good care of you, every time we go the owner talks to everyone and says salam...the gyros are so good...they have the real gyros at halal kabob house.. at other joints you would never find gyros in thin pecies and a really good tangy sauce...that is why i declare the food is tasty and the owners are nice
Excellent food and service. Nice sized portions, the prices may be a little high but are generally in line with other restaurants in the area. Small sit down area, takeout options, small buffet available. Overall this restaurant is great which is saying something considering I am normally not a big fan of south asian cuisine.
It's very sad to say this! Today I treated by Spanish people so bad I was waiting to place an order he was busy to make something after couple of minutes when i knock the desk politely! He turned and act so rude to make me wait and i don't know where Afghani people was? They are very respectful people, the one food I like so much is fish with rice but unfortunately because of that I don't wanna visit again. GOD BLESS YOU guys.
The best gyros I have ever had. I used to live very close by in Alexandria but then I moved. I still come back specifically for their gyros. Service is also good. 10/10. This one time the staff took it upon them to help me get my locked keys out the car! Not everywhere takes customers like that.
I always order the extra spicy chicken gyro (I call before). It’s always amazing and tastes really good I totally recommend. I wish the level of consistency of sauce and spiciness stays high (sometimes the sauce lacks) but otherwise it’s amazing.
The service was really nice, the food tho…. I got a Shawarma It was cold and unseasoned the meat was literally so bland it tasted like boiled chicken for the price they are charging its not even close to being worth it
Can confirm that the tending spicy chicken shawarma is tasty and unique. Seems more south Asian influenced versus middle eastern and is truly its own item. Bravo!
Good doesn’t have any taste at all! And attitude to the ladies behind counter is extremely stupid for no reason! Young child at the register she doesn’t even know how to communicate with humans she is definitely from some other planet! Unbelievably rude for no reason! People don’t waste your time and money here! They give you food like they doing a favor to you! Trash place!
I visited Halal Kabab House with a group of friends, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. The lady at the counter, who seemed to be the owner, was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Her attitude was far from what I’ve experienced with other Afghan establishments, where hospitality and friendliness are the norms. After placing our order and choosing different items from the menu, we planned to dine in. However, we were shocked when she told us that the tables had already been cleaned for the next day and that we couldn’t sit there. Instead, she insisted we take our food to go. This made no sense to us since we had just paid for our meals and should have been able to enjoy them comfortably inside, not outside on the street. Her behavior left us feeling disrespected, so we decided to cancel our orders and leave. I highly recommend visiting other nearby Afghan restaurants, where you’ll likely receive better service and the hospitality you expect for your money. I will not be returning to this place.
Some of the worst service I’ve experienced in the Northern Virginia area. Food is OK, but the staff were so off putting and rude that I cannot support this type of establishment.
