We have tried Manakeesh Cafe because of recommendation from my friends. Halal sign was clear at the entrance. We were five people and tried different platters. The platters size were larger than the ones typically served in other restaurants. The food was very good. I liked the design. It was a popular place with many people on a sunday lunch time. After lunch, we tried some deserts from bakery section. the desert was nice. The place was clean compared to most of the other halal restaurants I have tried. It might be a little more expensive than the other places but I believe it is worth paying little extra for service quality and food. We are planning to visit this place again if we come back to Philly again.
I would have rated this restaurant 4 or 5 stars, were it not for the bad attitude of the guy at the cash register. I stood in a line behind 2 other people to order take take out, but when these people were done, the guy behind the counter just walked away. I waited more than 5 minutes for him to return and in the meantime the line behind me grew quite long. When he did return, he told me to move aside because the people behind me wanted to pay. I moved aside and he took payment from 7 individual customers and chatted with each one of them as he was processing their payments. I then asked him if I could place an order and he again told me to wait and called somebody from the back of the line to pay. Thereafter he took my order and told me it will be ready in 20/25 minutes. I asked him for a receipt when he handed me my change and he said it is too late because I should have asked for the receipt when I handed him the money. Anyways, the BBQ chicken pizza I bought was average and the guys who baked the pizza were friendly when they handed it to me. I probably will not return to this place because there is much better service available at many other restaurants in the area.
Food was delicious, a little bit late but delicious. The ambiance is nice for a family dinner, not super fancy but nice to have a meal with family/friends. Very clean and spacious.
Bakhlava was really good. Food was also good but the service was slow and mainly because this can get very crowded at times. I would come back but probably on a week day. I give it four stars because we ordered chicken soup and they gave us the lentil soup (which is basically dal) without even asking us if its okay. And when we asked the lady about it she said well the other soup isn't fresh. So overall, I would recommend this and definitely try the bakhlava.
We went there for dinner recently the place is ok, five minutes after we got there it got crowded. It was our first time there, I took shawarma sandwich, we took one shish taouk and one beef manakeesh and a beef shawarma plater. There was something wrong with the spices they use, I am not a picky person and I would eat almost anything if I am hungry. I couldn't finish the sandwich ( I make a better shawerma at home) . The chicken manakeesh were horrible no one could eat it even my kids took just a bite and they were done. The ground beef one was much better, I would give it 4 stars The plater came with plain rice! The hummus was good and the salad was just ok, the beef that came with it was below average. The manager was nice and checked on us several times, the staff are friendly Did not try the crepe part or the cocktails or the sweets. I will not go again and I ll not recommend it.
Great cafe. Great atmosphere. Enjoyed all of the items I ordered. I especially like the smoothie bar they added.
Food is amazing here, delicious. We love this place no end. A must-go if you are in Philadelphia or even around in Delaware or New Jersey.
This place is brilliant, masha'Allah! Good for meal, especially desert, coffee/tea, smoothies! Quality halal!
I think it is one of the most modren style halal cafe in philadelphia with an excellent atmosphere. The mankeesh, creps, sandwiches and cocktails are excilent. The grilled kabob platters are very good. Specialy kabsa rice. They should add fattoush salad to their menu.
Amazing place with authentic Manakeesh. I tried the cheese, za'atar, lahm (ground beef), and sujuk...and they were all pretty good.
Wonderful food, nice atmosphere and very friendly owners. Best Baklawa I have had commercially in years. This place is a real find in Philadelphia. Only downside is parking.
Love everything about the place, service is good, place is clean, and beautifully decorated. The pizzas were good, had an iced coffee called the Beirut or something like that, and a pastry that was called tiramisu which didn't resemble the traditional dessert, but tasted like it. Great experience, will definitely be going there again!
Everything is marvelous, I especially like their shawrma and falafel.
Had their rocket it was very good, item is not listed on their menu. Atmosphere is great. Overall great halal place.
Had chicken wraps which tasted about average. There chocolate deserts were pretty good. Owners were very friendly and accommodating of the large group we had.
Amazing place for bakalava! Its freshly made! Even the interior design is too good... Owners very friendly...
Had a great experience! We decided to try it last minute passing through Philly. Wanted to try Turkish coffee and it was delicious. We also pored a bunch of food to go and everything was delicious. Would like to sit in and enjoy a meal in the future!!
The best spot for a great meal! Not only is the food amazing, but it’s also the perfect place to hang out with friends. The manakeesh is absolutely delicious, and the manakeesh tea is so refreshing. The prices are super reasonable too. Definitely a must-visit!
Everything is halal and it’s the best zaatar labna bread I’ve ever had and very fresh. Best crepes I’ve had in terms of quality as well. Highly recommend!
The food is pretty good and so is the service. My friend lived her falafel wrap. My beef wrap was tasty but I did not love the cut of meat. The staff is really pleasant and the space is so lovely. It would have been amazing had the pastries being good but they were overpriced and we could not eat it.
The coffee and the dessert were incredible! The staff was amazing, kind, and attentive. Great recommendations. If you find yourself in the area this is a must. Stop by and say hi! I promise you won't regret it.
I ordered from Manakeesh on Uber Eats, and the beef shawarma wrap was delicious! The wrap itself was fresh and baked perfectly, and the meat was juicy and tender. While I would have loved a beef and lamb mixed option, the beef shawarma was still flavorful. The fries were crispy and tasted homemade, and the Muhalabia dessert was too good to be true!!!! Very creamy and Yummmy with pistachio and rose syrup.?
The dessert and tea here is some of the best I’ve ever had!! The baklava, specifically the pistachio, is amazing and always consistent. Flaky, full of flavor and sweet but not overly sweet. I tried the viral Dubai chocolate for the first time yesterday and it was AMAZING! I highly recommend trying the dessert here. The staff is always so sweet and answer any questions you have about their menu. Luckily for me this place is around the corner from my house and I always pop by on my walk home and grab something. 10/10
The first time trying Pakistan food, really amazing experience, the chicken is tender, and also the lamb kabob delicious, I LOVE mutton karahi :) definitely will back again!
