When I pulled into the parking lot, I immediately had strong reservations about eating here. From the outside of the restaurant, as plain as day, they had two neon beer signs. I went inside and they had Caribbean music blasting lyrics like "jiggle it, jiggle it" and "take your clothes off"(yet they have signage claiming to be a "family restaurant"). Also, as soon as you walk in, there's Hindu art of the elephant god (aa'ootho billah). I was very confused because on the menu, very prominent on the top is "all meat is halal." I should not have eaten here, point blank. But I did. It took some time for the food to come and the waitress got my order wrong and insisted that I ordered what she'd brought me because that's what she wrote down. The food wasn't anything to write home about. All and all, no Muslim should eat here and I don't know why I decided to stay and have a meal. Clearly, the only thing "halal" about this restaurant is that they get their meat from a box marked "halal". And honestly, that's even questionable.

My brother and I tried this place for lunch last week. The staff gave us verbal assurance that the food is 100% halal, and they have halal printed on their flyers. As for the dine-in environment, it was ok, except that there was music playing and a bar in the restaurant. However, it is clean and comfortable. The service was excellent, and the waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was fairly priced. It took a bit of time but when it came out it was fresh. I would give the food 4/5 rating. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant a 5/5 was the presence of a bar inside. However, I really enjoyed the chicken curry. The menu has fusion Caribbean-Chinese food as well, which sounded really good. Overall, it's an interesting place to try. I would recommend that you pick up the food to go, as you may not be comfortable eating in a restaurant with a bar. However, it's still a must-try due to the interesting menu options.
