Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. From the management: 'All is halal'

The food was not good, the lamb was tough. Beware this is a shia owned restraunt and it is \'halal\' by the order of their imams to spit in food, so spitting in food that they prepare would be normal for them.
very good delicious food...nice staff with an attitude ;). had theblamb shank and the kefta kabab both very good will be back...if you are in the area definitely try them out won\'t be disappointed. \'hallal\' sign posted in window.
Been here many times. I will suggest if you are visiting Seattle are u should stop by here, they have good selection and everything is Halal. Mixed Kabab plate is my favorite.
This is the go to Restaurant for the wife and I, since we live not far. The lamb is wonderful. Portions are good sized and price is very reasonable for the high quality and service. Staff is always friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed and warm. If you are in the Kent, Federal Way area give it a try.
Very good food, restaurant can use an upgrade but dont judge the book by its cover here. Halal sign in window
The food is good over all and the prices are also reasonable with a large menu and mane good selections. The only major bad thing about this place is most customers that bring their kids there to run around the tables and bother everyone while they are just setting down and eating with no table manners at all. I feel bad for the owner and the staff having to deal with these type of customers. I wish they increase their priced so such people don't come to this place
I have a question on their halal products. I asked the management about the their Halal criteria. She did not satisfy me about halal meat they are using. Instead of showing me halal certification they showed me sign statement from the distributor that they are buying halal meat. And statement was sign by some name Maria.
I have been here many times. Great staff, great food, who could ask for more? I enjoy the Eggplant salad, Kuba, and the Kabob plate. Yum!
My wife and I went here after seeing it listed on Zabihah. I ordered the cheeseburger in my never ending quest to find the perfect halal burger. I would give the burger a 7 out of 10, which isn't bad because I'm comparing it to non-halal burgers also. The rest of the food was also good, as was the atmosphere and staff. We will definitely be going back.

I’m not the type to write bad reviews, but after today, I feel like I have to. First of all, management seriously needs to reconsider who they’re hiring. The ladies working the front are incredibly rude—when I mentioned that my food wasn’t ready (even though I’d called 15 minutes earlier), one of them literally stared at me like I was stupid. That’s not how you treat your customers, especially not someone who has dined here multiple times. I usually dine in and enjoy the food, which is great, but after this pickup experience, I’m seriously reconsidering coming back. Customer service matters just as much as the food.

Ishtar Restaurant is a fantastic place to visit with family. The steak pizza is excellent, and we also tried the burger made with halal meat, which was very delicious. Their kababs are a highlight, and both the lamb tikka and the kafta made with mixed meats are outstanding. However, I found the shawarma a bit too spicy for my taste. For sides, I highly recommend the Okra Tashreeb paired with any of their rice dishes—it’s absolutely delicious.
