GoogleOn a recommendation we decided to dine at Vaaghal for our first night in Oslo. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu with standard pairing. We were seating right in front of the open kitchen, which is great to observe the chefs at work. The only negative was that the way the tables are arranged, only one of us could see the goings ons. Our first 3 courses were amazing, with a mixture of mash room soup, an assortment of homemade breads, their famous 4 week aged ham, and some of the best sweetbreads we have eaten. Next same the fish course with a great pairing. I would say the only negative was the food was slightly on the Luke warm side. Which was a real shame. Finally the last course. For us, this didn’t work well. Too much going on The front of house were faultless throughout the evening and the head chef and I think owner made an effort to speak to guests Overall, a good first meal
