There is a lot of hype surrounding this restaurant so we decided to give it a go and tried it a couple of times. The food is OK, portions are good and the staff is friendly. We did not like chicken schawarma at all, chicken kabab was decent. They also have a fresh juice bar which we liked
Little portion at oak park location not everything Halal she charged me for drink I even don't want a drink and did not give my money back
It\'s a typical shawarma place. Food is good. Chicken at any of these shawarma places I don\'t like because it\'s dry and not spicy. I just drop by for the lunch special if I need to be in that particular area.
I\'ve been here numerous times, and catered as well- I\'m surprised we haven\'t left a review yet. Jerusalem Cafe consistently providers great rating good, made fresh and with great service. The place is clean, the menu is wide-ranging, and they also have various fresh juices and smoothies. Flavors are complex, presentation is very nice, and ingredients are top quality based on the signs in store, conversations with staff, and experience. For this area, it\'s our go-to for a consistently delicious Mediterranean meal. Bon appetit.
Ordered a beef sharwama sandwich and I can say w certainty it was not fresh and stank. I've had it many times in other places and that's not how it's supposed to be. The sandwich was just meat and pita w very little veggies to balance things out. Place is nice as is the staff but the food is not.
Mashallah
Not too happy with the food. I know Arabic food I'm from Dearborn Mi. The owner gave me old sour tabouli told him he wasn't to happy. Gave me money back he tried it within minutes he is in the back making a whole new batch. Just admit it was a mistake would have been the best. Never again food is below average.
just tried it... saw it here that its halal went there on my lunch..got me the lamb sandwich and it was go0o0od..yummy... i will keep going back there ..a nice clean place
Jerusalem cafe is now 100% certified zabiha halal purchasing their beef, lamb and chicken from Fatima zabiha meat processing
Very good food, went first time yesterday. Everything was made fresh and excellent. Portions are good size too. Really liked it over the "other" new Mediterranean place on same street.
fresh food with amazing taste .their all in one platter is wonderfull
one of the my top favorite resraurants, i have been a regular customer of this location in addtion to the other location in oak park, very welcoming customer servicing, polite manager and employees as well, perfect flavor of mediterranean quisine i highly recommend this for every body looking for delicious, well-cooked and tasty food. the place is comfortable, clean and a good atmosphere to drink at least a cup of tea. good job
Very good place. The grilled chicken (chicken tenders they call it ) and shish kabob are the best. Kufta kabob is ok. Chicken shawerma is good although it's not authentic in how it's cut. Lentil soup falafel and toubela are all really good. Nice all you can have sauce bar. Smoothies are not that good and expensive. Overall good to see a good Arab cuisine restaurant in oakbrook. Will def go back.
We loved it me and the family ordered the combo feast chicken kabob and chicken shawarma it was amazing a lot of flavor service is excellent and they don't charge for the HOT sauce and tahineh sauce
Amazing tasteful food , the price is right. Same quality as their other location in Oak Park, more choices in Lombard, you have the choice between having a side tahini sauce OR hummus with your entree. Very nice people. I recommend their chicken Shawerma and falafel, it is like no other.
Food is really good. The quantity of the meat in entrees is a little low. But the sandwiches are packed with meat. Taste wise I give it 5/5 but quantity would be a 3/5.
Alright, first reviewer. Anyways, this place is a mix of good and bad depending on your ethnicity. I got the chicken kebab plate (8.59) to go. The kebabs were amazingly cooked. I have never had kebabs like that. The parsley seasoning added a very unique flavor to it. The rice was also very good. Being a Desi, I like to pour on the sauces when it comes to arab food. The only sauce that I was given with my meal was very thick Tahini, almost hummus like. Again, this would definitely not be a problem for your white friends because the flavor from the chicken will suffice them. Overall, I was very impressed with the kebabs but was thoroughly dissappointed with the sauce selection. Also, this place also forgot my hummus side. Check your carryout food. I still think Pitaville in Naperville is the place to go for chicken kebabs followed by pita bbq in streamwood. This place would be third on my list.

Fun dinner with good food.

Best Arab food in Chicago. Friendly staff. Good portions. Tasty food. Will be back again and again.

The best food The best service If you try it once you will become daily customer great place

Everything is good here, it is fresh food not fast food. You may wait 10-15 minutes for certain foods (like lamb). But is absolutely worth your while!
I came with my class, it was busy but they served the food quickly. The lunch special came with a variety of delicious and juicy meat, and plenty of rice and fresh veggies in the salad. Their fries are the perfect combination of crisp outside and soft, fluffy inside. The Sweet Dream smoothie was very good, I could taste the fresh fruit clearly and it was refreshing! The staff are kind as well, I recommend this restaurant for everyone :)
It is a very crowded place, the service is fast . I had questions about the menu, and everyone was very attentive in explaining exactly what each dish was. Good experience visiting this place.
The friendliest staff & very home-like caring service ! Not the best Mediterranean food I have had in Chicago suburbs . Fresh juice: priceless. Yogurt: very tasty! Hummus: tasted like it was from a can (I get canned Hummus regularly) The place is not that clean.
Amazing experience; the food was great, and the service was even better. The man behind the counter (owner/manager?) gave us some nice recommendations, as I am from out of town and this was my first time coming here. After asking about the Persian tea, he described it and then went on to give us two cups of it to try; that is truly exceptional customer service. We ended up getting the chicken kabob entree, the hummus and shawarma, and falafel. Everything was delicious, and the falafel may be the best I ever tried! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area and want delicious food that is also healthy. The prices are also very reasonable.
For a Shawarma to be dry I have seen. And don’t Even bring that because its healthy bullshit. The food was nasty. For two Shawarma to be $28 and not enjoyable is quite disapointing. Never again!!
Even though the falafel was amazing and moist, the rest of the protein we ordered (beef and chicken shawarmas) were extremely dry and tough to chew. Will not be coming back. Have to add that the staff were friendly and welcoming. Too bad that the food quality came up short.
This place is more of a 4.5. We were in the area so we thought we would give it a try. Soooo glad we did! Food was flavorful, portions were generous. Hummus-yumm and the hot pita bread! Combination Feast- delicious! I was able to taste a little of everything. I really liked the beef shish kabob. Mmm so tender! The chicken shawarma was ok, kinda dry. The falafel was also really good. This feast is a generous portion to share. Lamb Kabob sandwich- which my brother ordered was not so tender and messy. He would have been happier getting the lamb kabob entree. Overall it has a nice flavor. I would definitely return if we're in the area. Service was friendly and helpful, there were more things on the menu I'd like to try and most of all... a convenient parking lot.
We were a group of five and accidentally ordered a half tray combination from the catering menu. However, the owner overheard us and kindly served the same delicious dishes for dining, which was a wonderful surprise. The steak, chicken, and hummus were all exceptional, and the service was top notch in a lovely, relaxed ambiance. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning for more fantastic food and service!
