As soon as you walk into this grocery store and restaurant combination, you\'re hit with the smell of fresh bread. I was there at 11:30 on a Tuesday and was the only customer in the place. Ordered the combination kabob platter (boneless beef, chicken breast, ground beef) plus rice, salad and bread for less than $10.

What I love about this market and restaurant is the good natured attitude of those who diligently work here. The food is aromatic and tastes quite good! I always order the Mantu (Afghan dumplings) but also can attest to the quality and taste of the other offerings on the menu. The market has many options in terms of products like honey, fresh baked bread, nuts, dates, herbs/spices, fresh halal lamb, afghan ice cream, and some other options in their chiller. It’s a good spot to: do some targeted grocery shopping for at home culinary excursions or enjoy some authentic Afghan food in the East Bay Area.
