The menus clearly state that halal food is served.. From the management: 'The Halal Guys takes great pride in using only the highest quality, halal-certified meats. We know many of our customers like to know the sources of their food and we are happy to provide the Halal certifications for our chicken and our beef gyro. 100% halal food.'
From humble beginnings as a New York City hot dog cart to a world-renowned international restaurant chain, The Halal Guys story is the quintessential American Dream. The Halal Guys is defining a new, thriving segment for the restaurant industry: American Halal Food! The Halal Guys legend began in 1990, when the three founding partners opened up a hot dog cart on West 53rd & 6th Avenue in New York City. As business grew, they recognized a huge demand from Muslim cab drivers looking for a halal food meal. That is when the famous platter of chicken and gyro over rice was born. And let's not forget about the famous white and red sauces! Fast-forward 25 years, five carts, two New York City restaurants, and millions of diverse customers served, The Halal Guys is growing yet again. Fans no longer have to be in NYC to experience The Halal Guys as they look to share American Halal Food all over the country and the world.

You can\'t go wrong with the Halal Guys. Some swear by the chicken and others by the lamb/beef combination. But, one thing that most agree upon is the white sauce. The mayonnaise mixture has been clogging arteries for over a decade. Restaurant is a nice setup. Stools on the right and tables in the middle. It does get packed around lunch time so sometimes it\'s hard to find a seat. A nice mixture of take out and eat in patrons. They serve 2 sizes of platters and in addition to the usual chicken, gyro and rice. They also have falafel, hummus, baba ghanouj they also have baklava. Always a safe place to eat, and one of the originals that really launched the international halal cart craze.

It's not worth ordering ahead. I usually prefer to order ahead to save time but this place is not worth it. I've tried it several times here and have the same experience and this last experience made me upset enough to edit my review Basically I order ahead and arrive 5-7 mins later, which I get may not be enough time but I go and ask and the lady cashier says oh it's not ready yet. Alright I get it, and wait. I ordered at 6:05, and I didn't get my food until 6:30. 25 min wait for 1 small platter and 1 french fries. Was it busy, nope, was there a line, nope, were there other deliveries. I saw 2 delivery guys come and get their food. I'm making eye contact occasionally with the cash register and another guy she's chatting with. I finally get fed up and go ask and she's like oh ya it's ready. I'm sure my blood pressure rose and I quickly walked out after getting the food. I come home already annoyed and there is a bug crawling around the platter. So money wasted. And this isn't the first time where you wait in front of them and they just forget you. My previous visit I ordered the same thing. This time they had the platter but was waiting on fries. I said ok and waited right next to them. After 10+ mins my wife is like go ask, can't take that long and I go and ask and it's just there. Again not busy, no lines

Portion size ok but half of it was lettuce. Not worth $12.99. Beef is dried since it's sitting in the bin and don't know for how long. Stale pita bread on top. The street cart in midtown is a tad better, which is not saying much. Very disappointed. Their slogan is "We are Different", you must be kidding.

Worst halal guys

Tasty food and helpful people. Be careful with red sauce..it's soo soo spicy. Try chicken over rice platter with white sauce.

People cooking were nice and friendly but the girl at the counter was very rude especially towards new customers.

Excelente comida, vale a pena comer em pé ou na rua

The food is delicious ?! Must try if you're there
