A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises.. From a reader: 'Everything is halal zabiha written on door'
We founded Ameer Kabob in 2010 in Wicker Park with one goal in mind: to serve the best Middle Eastern food, presenting the real taste of the Lebanese falafel and shawarma. Since then, we have established a loyal following using our expansive menu, which includes a variety of dishes such as falafel, hummus, baba ghanouj, kabobs and our delicious shawarma. Add our pastries of baklava or even chocolate cake into the mix, and you've got a full meal at your fingertips. That's our goal here at Ameer Kabob.

Had chicken shawarma plate , it was delicious. Hummus was ok , lentil soup was excellent . Prices were very reasonable , big portions. Dinning area isn't very good. Most customers were taking out the food.
Kofta sandwich is really nice, but the falafel and shawarma is not that good.
**OLD REVIEW** One of the best Arabic foods I had tried in Chicago land. Babaghanoosh was amazing and delicious. **UPDATE** Apparently they have now merged with Hummus Grill. The new restaurant also offers pretty damn good food. -The kefta was decent quality -The Chicken Kabob was pretty damn good and tender. - The Hummus taste very authentic and creamy - The Taboleh Salad also tasted authentic and home-made which is good... - Very clean resturant which is always a + - Unfortunately the portion size is nowhere close to what the OG Ameer kabob used to serve. In General the meal size was a bit smaller that what you would usually get at a Mediterranean restaurant when you order a mixed grill plate - The food is not quite like what I used to get at the OG location tbh... overall the food was tasty and FRESH.
Delicious healthy food. Definitely have the eggplant salad (baba ghanoush)
I paid $40.41 for what I consider to be subpar food. The portions are just not worth the price. I paid for an additional chicken kabob and as you can tell it wasn't a full kabob. Great owner though and clean environment. Prices aren't adding up to what you receive. I thought it would be enough to feed two people with additional grilled veggies and extra kabob and was let down. I should have went on Devon.
I went here because the reviews looked great and was excited. The location is actually now named hummus grill at the new address. I got the kafta kabob plate to go and it was aesthetically pleasing. Can’t say the same for flavor. The rice was undercooked and the meat was over cooked. The meal overall was very dry and the hummus was grainy. Also I placed the order and picked it up within ten minutes and the food was cold.
I arrived in Chicago around 10:00pm and was starving but didn’t want fast food so I ordered from this place on Uber eats. I ordered a Shawarma Mix Entree and a Lentil soup. The entree also came with some bread and hummus and a small salad. It was a lot of food and I couldn’t eat everything. Everything was really good and I’ll be ordering from here again to try something different. I recommend this place, especially if you need a late night meal.
Friendly fast service. Good prices. Good food. A friend referred me, I wasn't disappointed.
The restaurant is clean, the sitting area has about 10 tables and 25-30 chairs. You have to order at the counter and pickup your food. Lentil soup was alright, hummus was good and could have avoided fries.
COVID-19 delivery. Super good food! Everything arrived on time as expected, hot and fresh. Falafel and chicken were both cooked to perfection and spiced for flavor. Definitely on my fast list for Mediterranean in the noble square area!
