A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises.. From the management: 'Rasa Sayang is the only halal restaurant in Chinatown'
Bringing the favourites of Malaysia and Singapore to London!

Unfortunately they served alcohol at premises, and I saw in their refrigerator as well. also I saw a Muslim lady with hijab works in the Rasa Sayang. they have around 7 vegetarian dishes. note some dishes have squids.
The food is so Malaysian and Singaporean. I feel at home. Adwin was very nice and friendly. Will come again if God's will InsyaAllah....
they served alcohol at premises. the owner is chinese. visited today for lunch.

Fantastic Malaysian food, very authentic. Located in the heart of London's Chinatown.
It is quite a busy restaurant, however we manage to get a table quickly, which was nice. Our server was a great host, very polite, casual, pleasant, informative and not intrusive. A nice casual restaurant to get comfortable in. The food was delicious! We enjoyed our meal very much, my favourite being the salted egg battered prawns and my partner loves the curry roti. I am already thinking when should I go back to eat again. I ordered a guava non alcoholic cocktail drink - a little too sweet for me so will stick with coke next time, my partner wasn't a fan of the veg (but I liked it) hence the 4 stars. We are happy we made the choice to visit here today. Will be back soon.
The service was great, Even though we had to queue for 45 minutes for a table for 5, the employee (Yasin) kept updating us on the status and even got a chair for a pregnant woman in the group so she didn't have to stand. The wait was also certainly worth it, I got the Laksa Noodle soup which was perfectly flavoured. I will definitely be returning.
As a Malaysian residing in London, I had the chance to visit Rasa Sayang, and it was a delightful experience. Despite not having a reservation, I was seated within 10 minutes, even with the restaurant being fully packed. The atmosphere perfectly blends the nostalgic charm of a classic Malaysian eatery with a touch of London’s elegance. The staff were energetic, attentive, and efficient, adding to the overall warmth of the place. The food was flavorful, instantly transporting me back home. A great spot for anyone craving genuine Malaysian flavors in the heart of London!
I had pleasure of dining at Rasa Sayang Restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! The flavors of Malaysian and Singaporean cuisine come alive in every dish. I tried the Beef Rendang, Raffles singapore laksa, sambal long beans, sago gula melaka, Ubi kayu and the rasa sayang beer and it was bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy, traditional vibe. The staff were friendly specially Himal and provided excellent service, making the experience even better. Whether you’re a fan of Malaysian food or trying it for the first time, Rasa Sayang is a must-visit. Highly recommend it for anyone craving delicious, authentic Southeast Asian cuisine!
It was a last minute decision and we wasn’t sure if we could get in as it was a Friday dinner. We were there just before 6pm and we were lucky we got a table. And right after that, this place just started to get crowded. The service was fast, most of the staff were friendly and the food was delicious. It meet our expectations of authentic Malaysian/Singaporean food. Apart from the delicious food, I also like how creative they are on using the name of the dishes to quote on the staff t-shirt. It’s very cute and funny. We were only in London for 2 nights before heading home but we had visited this restaurant 3 times (2x dinner and 1x lunch). And all our family members already have their favourite food. We definitely will come back here the next time we visit London.
Can be rather noisy to dine here. As the tables are really closed to each other. Overall the food flavours are pretty authentic to Asia’s standard for what’s available in London. Attentive and pleasant wait staff. Especially Dizzy for being extra attentive. Small space and really busy during meal time. Another plus point of this place is they have clean toilets!
I didn’t want to give 2 stars but this was mine and my family’s first time trying Malaysian food so we had high expectations…three of us ordered the noodle soup with coconut under the waiter’s recommendation but they unfortunately didn’t like it at all. It’s probably our personal preference, we just felt like there was too much fish sauce in it, so almost nobody could finish their food. We loved the spring rolls, the roti and the drinks!! Service was good, despite being busy on new Years, they were fast at serving.
We came here yesterday for late lunch and early dinner. It was not that busy when we came as it’s just after the lunch rush. Food was great! One of the best Beef Rendang I had…. I think the best so far in London. The nasigoreng was also good. Servings were good to share with 2 people. Reasonably priced for London given the location. The restaurant was clean and tidy even toilets. staff were great and accommodating. They are also happy to give recommendations. Will definitely recommend and will comeback to try other dishes! Oh and the shirts that the staff were wearing were so cool and hilarious (thank you for letting me take a photo of them-you guys were great sports ☺️). We also liked the dessert Sago Gula it was different but yummy… great recommendation….??
