The owners are Muslim and have confirmed its halal status.. From the management: 'All the meat is 100% hand slaughtered and verified to the supplier.'

Let me say that I came here with high hopes! This place is OK, at best. They have a few different options and varieties to appeal to most burger lovers. For my first time, I ordered the classic, which was very basic. We also ordered the Oh So Hot, which I took a bite of and preferred it slightly over what I ordered. They had no fries on our visit (WTF?!). The kids\\\' chicken tenders was hella salty and over cooked/burnt/dry. This was the case with the onion rings as well (e.g., overcooked/burnt). Service was not friendly at all, we felt like we were bothering them by being there. We waited a very long time (over 25 mins) for our food, despite it not being busy. We definitely have better burgers (and service!) in the Bay Area. If you\\\'re not from LA and are craving a Halal cheeseburger, Urban Skillet might suffice. Just don\\\'t come here full of expectations. I categorize this place as \\\"barely passing.\\\"
So far I have tried the original, truffle and oh so hot. All burgers are good and worth the price, for those who are not familiar these are all double patty burgers. For fried, I would recommend Urban fries, though at $7.99 they are pricey but they have enough meet and toppings to justify it. Brisket fries are also good if you like bbq sauce that makes it obviously kind of sweet. I am not a big fan of that flavor. On top of all of this the meet is halal and they proudly advertise it both inside and outside the restaurant. Taking one star away from the restroom that was not clean and couldn
This is my go-to place after hiking in or around Griffth Park. I highly recommend. Not long ago (as evidenced by many of the older reviews), this place had amazing American-Korean fusion food, including the Philgogi cheese steak sandwich, which was my favorite thing on the menu. I think they\'ve done away with the Korean part of their menu since at least November 2018, so there\'s no more philgogi or kim chi on the menu, but there\'s still tons of flavor and delicious things. Best of all, much of it is unique; there\'s a bunch of items at this place where you can *only* get at this place, items I\'ve never seen on another halal menu. Every time I go here I\'m faced with the same dilemma: Everything looks so good on the menu, it\'s hard to pick just one thing. I always want to pick five. If you\'re in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out.
Wowow! This place is one word: awesome! Coming from the Bay Area- Fremont, Ca- know for having the best Halal joints, this place tops it all. Their patties are made fresh, spiced juicy burgers topped with brioche bread. These are hands down the best fries we've had- crusty- does not need ketchup- could be a meal in itself. The skillet does are also tops! We recommend everything! The Southern BBQ Burger is my fave! It's a 7 minute drive from Universal Studios. The service is excellent! They're fast, friendly, warm, and helpful. Inshallah we all voted to visit again tomorrow! DEFINITELY RECOMMENDING TO EVERYONE!
Really tasty American food. Got a brisket burger and the one with lamb bacon and both were delicious. The decor is modern hipster and inviting, and the halal signs are very clear and I was served by a hijab-wearing girl. The fries were seasoned really well too. Highly recommend a visit!
I went there expecting a halal Asian fusion restaurant, but as of a few days ago, the owners have changed and the menu has substantially changed, but still 100% zabihah as assured by the owners. The owners are Muslim and they even gave us and another customer a prayer mat to pray on upon request. The food is now what I would call American food, consisting of burgers, wings, fries, and salads. Even though the food was not what we were expecting, it was delicious alhamdulillah! The Southern BBQ Burger (which includes lamb bacon) and Crispy Chicken Burger, House Fries, Skillet Fries, and Lemon Pepper Wings were all very good. They also generously gave us free fries with our burgers and while we waited.
My whole family liked their sandwiches and fries. Good decor. Free parking was difficult to find. Metered parking was available.
I go here often and absolutely love it. The workers here are very friendly and offer great service. The food is just amazing. My go to is usually the Philgogi cheese steak sandwich. If you\'re a meat-lover, then you will love this sandwich. They offer a variety of fries as well, my favorite is the skillet fries with Korean bbq. These fries are without a doubt some of the best fries I have ever had. If you follow them on Facebook or Instagram, they will often post deals for certain days. Overall this is one of the best restaurants that me and my friends will go to just to eat and hang out. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Very good burgers. I\'ll have to come back later to try out the sandwiches. Please note the the \"hot,hot,hot burger\" is very spicy. We went on the weekend when they also serve ribs, they were very good as well.
Fantastic food! The Philgobi cheesesteak was amazing - one of the best sandwiches I\'ve ever had! The skillet fries were also great. I definitely recommend this place because it\'s so unique.
Wow Thank you for such delicious, unique flavours and great customer service. I tried the food at the Eid festival in Anaheim and I appreciate the employees\' patience with my specific food preferences due to allergies. I look forward to trying other menu items in the future. Please come out to Orange County more often, since I don\'t live near the valley. :)
Yes everything is Halal in case you are wondering. I like two thing and two things only. That is their burgers and fries. The portion of each item is enough for two people to eat and indulge in every bite especially their burgers which is stack high with toppings. Their Skillet fries are a good appetizer to share among your party of 3-4 and have room left over for the good stuff. The owners of this place are really cool and down to earth and love what they are doing and make sure you are taken care of. I highly recommend this place if you are in the North Hollywood area and looking for something good to eat.
After all the hype and great reviews, our party of 5 was very dissappointed with our experience here! While the decor, ambience, and customer service are all great, the food is just not worth the price or the hype. The smoked chicken turned cold very quickly, making me think that maybe it was pre-cooked and then microwaved once ordered. The burgers, while juicy, are $9.95 for JUST the burger; most places, that price gets you at least an order of fries, too! The "Carne Asia-d Burrito" was dry: the meat was overcooked and flavorless, the beans didn't even seem fresh (they were so dry!), and the fillings just didn't compliment each other. As another reviewer has pointed out, the ribs are way too expensive, in addition to being mostly bone and fat. Finally, although the service is good, you pay when your order, and the payment screen pressures you to tip at that time. This isn't fair; how can you tip for the service when you haven't even sat down yet? As it is, for a place where you order at the counter, grab your own plastice utensils and bottled drinks, and get served on tiny metal plates, the prices are too high. I get that Urban Skillet is in a hip part of town, but I don't think it lives up to expectations at all.
I like the inside of this restaurant. It is very trendy and clean. We tried several items on the menu, all of which were delicious... EXCEPT the ribs. Buyers beware: $24 for 4 small ribs that are mostly fat, not prepared well and not tasty. If I\'m going to pay $24 for a small entree, I would expect it to be delicious and quality cuts. Honestly, I feel very ripped off by those, and wonder how they can even feel good charging that much for that ill-prepared dish. Stay away from the ribs and you\'ll probably be happy with the restaurant.
Amazing food and great service. Would visit again the next time I'm in LA
I highly recommend this please. You will enjoy it if you are a Foodie. I have been here twice and both times the food was amazing. I have had the hot hot, Philly, chicken sandwich, burrito, and skillet fries. Loved them all, but my favorite so far is the hot hot burger. I also sampled their ribs, Amazing. Can't wait to go there and try it next week. It's a great place to take the family or just hangout with good friends and food.
We stopped by here the other day after a hike and I'm sure glad we did! The food was outstanding. A fusion of Asian and western cuisine, Urban Skillet offers unique items prepared with the freshest ingredients. I tried the hothothot burger and my husband had the philgogi cheesesteak. The meat in both dishes was so delicious and the sauces as well. I'm looking forward to going back to try some of other items on the menu! Thank you for making this halal-- the best part!

Burgers were made fresh and delicious however was on the salty side. Please rectify. Blazing chicken sandwich was also good. Would choose their burger over this. Wings were not good. Can avoid. Fries were refried. Not only us but another customer brought up this complaint. We were given another batch. It was better. Street metered parking can be difficult to find at times. All Halal items per worker. Things to work on: be friendly and have transparency. We were given a ticket and not a receipt. Clean the bathrooms.

Tried the beef brisket sandwich. The sandwich was well loaded, but I didn't really like the taste of the brisket. I'm from Texas, I know brisket! It didn't seem like it had been smoked/barbecued. The taste was therefore quite bland. Maybe there are some other dishes I might like though.

Food looks nice but taste is 50/50 , not a clean place also cashier is working in the same time without gloves at the kitchen.

We tried 4 different burgers and they was good specially their beef burger.,,,love it will visit again ..,good halal place….

The burger was good and it's halal
This spot has a nice vibe with plenty of seating, which I appreciated. It's great that they offer halal options, especially with a focus on brisket items. However, I found some of the meat to be slightly dry, which was a bit disappointing. That said, some items were definitely tasty, like their burgers, fries, and wings. Overall, it's a decent place with room for improvement.
Update to only 3 stars: I ordered the chicken smack wrap and there is so little chicken in it, I had to really dig to find it. I don’t know if they are mad that I ordered on Christmas Day but if you are open, then you should be giving people the ample amount of meat that you normally would. This burrito was also smaller than Everyone I’ve gotten in the past and I have ordered here probably like 20 times. Original review: This place is affordable for LA and the portion size was decent. It definitely filled me up and I was satisfied. The employee that took my order ended up bringing the food to my table, which is more than I can say for Dog Haus even though they gave my table a number so the busser knew where to bring it. Definitely go here instead of there if you’re in the area.
Probably my favorite burger spot for a nice, juicy, flavorful burger. I had the truffle burger, it was delicious! My husband had the original skillet burger, with extra meat patty, no bread and he was thoroughly satisfied. I would have tried their wings, but they cook them in canola oil, according to the worker. All their food looks really good!
I ordered from Grubhub and got The Original Skillet Burger, Regular Fries, and Mac n Cheese. The burger was great, but the fries were dry and tasted like they'd gotten cold and were re-cooked for my order. The Mac n Cheese was also really bad, with unflavorful, gritty cheese that also tasted less than fresh. I think the cheese sauce either broke and they sent it out anyway, or the mac I got was prepared hours ago and broke due to sitting for too long. Either way, it's a bad practice that I hope the restaurant fixes since their burger was great. They need to put as much effort into their sides as they do their burgers. None of this is due to delivery, it was delivered very fast. I wish I could give this place a higher rating since their burger was so good, but the sides leave quite a lot to be desired. Better quality control is needed, please. Five stars for the burger I got, but 1 star for the fries. Sorry.

You really won't understand how wonderful this location is unless you give it a try! Tasty buns and hand-ground beef each morning. A burst of flavor and texture will fill your mouth. Exceptional Food, Excellent Location and Skilled Employees.
I have given it a one-star rating because of the food, amount, and pricing, but more importantly, because *DIEGO*'s manner and attitude were really disappointing and gave off the impression that he was racist. Explanation: Upon entering the restaurant to place my order, I noticed a man named Diego working at the reception. I greeted him with a smile before he say anything, but there was no response or reaction of greeting . He asked what I wanted to order, and I said that I need whatever was best you have . He then offered me the most expensive burger on the menu, which I accepted and paid him the amount he said. I then waited for five minutes while taking a seat in the waiting area and scrolling through my phone. All of a Sudden, he walked and came from my back and banged my meal on the table, and turned to go without even saying or greeting anything that thing hurt me a lot. Decided to never, ever go to this location and advise others not to go there as well I'm grateful to Urban Skillet for the wonderful service.
Absolute Burger Bliss! Urban Skillet is a burger lover's dream! The Classic Cheeseburger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, with fresh toppings and a soft, delicious bun. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Also they have the Oh So Hot burger is Sooo Good! The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone craving an amazing burger experience
