Probably the best foul I have had outside of Egypt! Loved it!
I had the pleasure of dining at Fava Pot in Washington, D.C., and it was truly an outstanding experience! The food was incredibly delicious, offering authentic Egyptian flavors that were a highlight of my trip. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even more special. Definitely one of the best experiences I had in early 2025!
If you’re in Downtown DC, you have to try the black mint tea and Nutella Kataifi at Fava Pot. It’s the perfect mix of traditional Egyptian flavors and a sweet twist! The tea is rich and refreshing, with a hint of fresh mint, while the Kataifi is a warm, crispy filled with gooey Nutella. Hands down, one of the best Egyptian spots in town!
Had really high hopes based on the comments but thought the food was alright. We tried the felafel, lentil soup, cottage cheese dip and chicken bowl. And while nothing tasted bad, none of the food was amazing. Especially for the price that it cost. The felafel was probably the best out of all the food.
The restaurant is very cozy and serves great fava bean falafels and koshary. The owner is a very nice man and I must say that the harissa adds the perfect amount of spiciness to the dish. I will definitely be coming back and recommend you try this place out!
Was looking for some Arabic food when I saw this location. Never had tasted Egyptian food before until today! Tried this Om Ali delicacy they make from scratch here and totally loved it. Eat it when it’s hot, I was told and I enjoyed every bite as it melts in the mouth. Also tried their Kofta over rice! Fantastic food service, definitely coming back! 10/10
Absolutely delicious and authentic Egyptian falafel, or ta'amiyya. The owner is so kind and the food is fresh and tasty. Great flavors. Get the kunafeh, trust me. Great spot for a delicious and healthy lunch.
My husband and I recently visited this amazing Egyptian restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! With my husband being of Egyptian descent, we have always loved the rich flavors of Egyptian cuisine, and this place truly exceeded our expectations. We celebrated the first day of Ramadan, and the owner welcomed us with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. She is such a sweet and loving person, and her passion for her food shines through in every dish. Everything is made from scratch, and you can truly taste the love in each bite. The homemade butter and brown butter sauce were exceptional! The ambiance of the restaurant transported us back in time to old Egypt, creating a magical dining experience. The attention to detail was remarkable, and the owner ensured that everything was served on time, making our meal even more enjoyable. I can’t wait to go back for more! If you’re looking for authentic Egyptian cuisine that feels like a home-cooked meal, I highly recommend this gem. Thank you for making our first Ramadan together so special!
Really amazing food. Every dish is an absolute experience. The food is authentic and fresh. Very highly recommend their Falafel. It is crispy on the outside and soft and full of flavor on the inside. Service is very very helpful and very friendly.
