Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. From the management: 'Did we mention it’s halal?' The staff verbally assures that the food is halal, and there is a prominent halal logo on their menu. It might still be helpful to ask about formal certification and/or ask them where they source meat from.
Pizza Walay is a takeout Pizza and Wings spot that recently opened up in the lively H St NE Corridor. There's a minimal amount of seating, so not really great for larger groups.

I arrived late and closed with my friends, the owners. The pizza is okay but more important are good friends. Pepperoni and more fresh on the late night, and it is a great place. Thanks guys, they even shared a Coke with your boy. Good luck, Everyday. YOOO, THE A.M.G. Guiseppe, also the wings were delicious.
If you choose to order from this place, I suggest that you order online to pickup through Ubereats or another service with set pricing because this place is dishonest with their pricing when you order in person. Personally, I say do not order from here at all or go to Manny and Olgas just down the road. I called around 1130pm for and order of 5 chicken tenders and fries. The person receiving the order quoted that my total would be $8.99. I gathered my cash and walked over. When I arrived in person, I checked the menu to be sure of the price and it quoted $8.99 matching what he said. All of a sudden, I get ready to pay, and the guy quotes $16+. I ask him why had the price increased all of a sudden, different from the menu and different from what he quoted me when I ordered on the phone. His only explanation was "new price". So I guess it had changed in 10 mins to almost double, huh? And let's pretend that it did -- false advertisement through your menus? This place has zero ethics and moral when it comes to their custumer and business practices. Trying to be greedy cost them a customer who would have frequented them several times a week. But now, they ended up losing money. I guess they don't care because they will just double charge the next person. BTW, uber eats actually lists it for $6.99, so order online and do pickup so they can't deceive you and save money/get more for your money. But I wouldn't even trust them to make my food at this point. They show that they do not care. Do you really want that making your food? Also -- smelled like straight sewage when I entered the place and not a hint of food. Good luck.
Every time I come here I want to write a review on how great this place is! Love the steak and cheese! I get it every time. And my favorite pizza is the B.A.D. Pizza. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
This is my brother and I first time coming here. I didn't have to eat anything to tell that the food was immaculate. My brother tipped the cashier $3 and they gave us a whole extra pizza even though that wasn't too necessary. I'll never forget. The service was 10x better than any other restaurant that I have been inside of in my entire life. They deserve more acknowledgement. I love it and will come here more and more often. I recommend this place to everyone globally.
Incredible pizza available late that is far better than any of the traditional chains in the area. I was so glad when they brought jumbo slices to H St. and have yet to be disappointed on a pizza run. It’s so much fun to bring out of towners here to see their reaction to the size of the slices. Jumbo slices are also great to be shared.
The owner and manager is the most kind hearted ❤️ and extremely welcoming of all the H Street restaurants that are not ? franchise or corporate owned/affiliated. Please ? stop by HERE and get your next meal, from a truly blessed person with the reciprocating soul to give us a blessing back ?, even if it is as simple as a good ?✅ meal! ??!
The restaurant has reopened under new ownership, offering delicious food and exceptional service. The staff is incredibly friendly, making it a highly recommended spot!
The pizza and wings at Pizza Walay were good. I would describe this place as "grub". The fact that everything is halal is a huge plus. Unfortunately, I am disappointed in the prices. $18 for a large, even if a specialty large, for a regular crust pizza just isn't worth it, especially not in a casual looking place as this. If Pizza Walay was a sit down restaurant, or if their pies were deep dish then yes, an $18 large makes sense. But for what they supply, it's not. Hard to justify returning here unless the place becomes more affordable.
