Excellent Indian food
Excellent service above and beyond and good food
We wanted an authentic Indian restaurant that served grilled kebabs and naan. City of Spice was so delicious! We ordered chicken kebabs, lamb kebabs, butter naans, fish curry and lamb biryani. Every dish was fresh, flavorful and so delicious. Mohamed Farhan looked after us and shared his passion and knowledge of absolutely tasty dishes. We will be back again and again!
This is by far some of the best Indian food I've had in YEARS. We walked in and everyone in the restaurant was Indian so we took that as a good sign. And boy were we not disappointed. Every sauce had rich depth and so much flavor. There's not in the way of atmosphere but if you're looking for next level flavors, look no further! We can't wait to come back again.
On a business trip, and found this great Halal restaurant. It was very busy and they have a very large selection on their menu. I ordered the beef, thick kebab and tandoori chicken. The portions are really big. Pretty much for two people. The price was reasonable for the amount of the portions. The beef tikka kebab was flavorful and just the right amount of spices. The tandoori chicken was amazing and a lot of flavor and spices as well.
I had a great experience at City of Spice! The food was full of authentic Indian flavors, and everything I tried was delicious. I especially loved their Chicken Tikka Masala with garlic naan, Indian Chinese dishes, Chana Bhatura, Dosa, and Gobi Manchuria - each dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. What made the experience even better was the amazing customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. If you’re looking for a place with great Indian food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely worth a visit!
City of Spice no longer offers a buffet. Delicious food though! Chicken was not too tender, so perhaps try lamb. The rice with the meal also seemed day-old.
I visited this place with a friend when we were craving Indian food. We ordered the goat biryani and it was good but a little dry. I wish the flavours were more balanced with a little more gravy. We also ordered the mango lassi and that was bomb. Totally recommend!!
The service was good. The waiter checked in a couple times. I liked that we could choose a booth by the window but it shook with every movement. It's a casual place. Most people that came in had ordered takeout in advance. The menu is large with just the item names and prices. I docked points for food because they said my order could be no spice but it arrived too spicy for me to enjoy. The mango yogurt drink did help with that. It's quite sweet with no tang. I was able to eat the naan, though the 2 portions pictured were too much at once. It felt powdery, more charred on the bottom, with small juicy bits of garlic.
Mouthwatering authentic Indian dishes! This was my first time here just a few weeks ago and I'm definitely returning. We had a combo of vegetarian and non-veg dishes with South indian bread. I also tried my first Thumbs Up, something I forgot to try while in India earlier this year. It was ?? even though I dont drink soda. This is a small family owned establishment. And it's obvious they put their hearts into this restaurant. You can ask for the menu binder which shows you photos of every dish (there are many). Usually Indian food in restaurants are too salty but not here. Conveniently located on Bell Rd in North Phoenix. I will definitely be bringing all my out of town guests here.
