Guzman y Gomez was named to honour old friends. We founded GYG to share our love of all things Latin: the food, the music, the art, and the warm sense of community. That's why we like to get actively involved with our local communities, and some further away from home to spread the GYG spirit.
Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status. From corporate headquarters: 'The chicken at all GYG restaurants is Halal certified - a copy of the certificate can be emailed upon request. We do have Halal certified chicken across all our locations. We do however work with other non-Halal meats and we do not follow halal processes in the kitchen.'

I found chicken in my pulled mushroom burrito (hold the cheese and sour cream). The burrito was limp and cold, like it had been kept in the fridge and then stuck in the microwave for 15s. 7 years as a vegetarian sure was nice while it lasted.
