Zabaadi in Chicago is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves fresh, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service is always friendly and attentive. The menu offers a great selection of dishes, from perfectly seasoned shawarma to delicious falafel and hummus. Everything tastes authentic and is made with high-quality ingredients. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it an excellent choice for both casual dining and takeout. Highly recommended for a delicious and satisfying meal!
I've been to Zabaadi before but only for take out. Just catered for my birthday and the food was amazing! Everything was so fresh and delicious! I ordered the Zabaadi Tray Package. It was more than enough food! All my guests said the food was so good and had seconds! I look forward to ordering again!
Decided to try out Zabaadi Kebabs for the first time and was delightfully surprised. Was greeted warmly by a nice young gentleman upon entering their doors. Approached the register and was again greeted nicely by a second young gentleman who then took my order. For to-go, I ordered a chicken shawarma wrap combo, which comes with fries and a drink, and a chicken shawarma bowl. Stood off to the side and took in the ambiance as I waited for my food. Very tidy, well-lit, and spacious dining area with many seats. They also sell pita bread, shawarma wraps, and baklava off to the far wall by the register and have a station where one can grab salt, pepper, ketchup, napkins, and utensils. Received my food, took it home, and dug right in. The food was pretty decent. The fries were frozen crinkle fries from a bag and were just about what you'd expect they'd taste like, which is not unlike cafeteria fries. The shawarma wrap was all right and was elevated by their amazing garlic sauce. There wasn't a lot of chicken shawarma in the wrap itself, and I got overwhelming notes of lettuce and tomato with just a faint hint of chicken shawarma. The chicken itself was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, but there just wasn't enough of it. The shawarma bowl was excellent. I practically inhaled the bowl in its entirety like a whale does to a school of fish. I did not stop eating until I scraped the last grain of rice from the bottom - it was that good. I highly recommend it. Overall, their restaurant is clean, their service is decent, and their food is quite all right. I'll definitely pay another visit to Zabaadi and give their other menu selections a try and maybe give the chicken shawarma wrap another go, as mine seemed like a work-in-progress but with the potential to be excellent. So come on over and give them a go. Cheers!
My first time trying this place and *chefs kiss* 10/10 highly recommend!! I walked in and the vibe was so dope. The staff is super nice and the food is amazing. definitely recommending this place, definitely taking a 20 min drive over to get the shawarma bowl again ❤️❤️
The food here is good and I wish we had more of this cuisine in Seattle. The ingredients in the two dishes I ordered were fresh and balanced. I've had halal and Mediterranean food that had preferable flavors though so I can't quite give this a perfect score. Still, I highly recommend ordering from here.
We ordered 2 bowls, lentil soup, and baba ganoush to-go and service was excruciatingly slow. The chicken kabob was dry and had no flavors. House salad didn't taste fresh and hot sauce was bland. I had high hopes for the baba ganoush but it was an absolute disappointment: tasteless, bitter, and had chunks of undercooked eggplant mixed in. The only good parts were the lentil soup and hummus.
Average shawarma, it was wrapped well but the chicken was large and a little dry. The tahini and hot sauce helped to add moisture, so definitely get that too. The fries were fresh, crinkle cut, and had extra seasoning. Among the better fries I’ve had at a Mediterranean restaurant.
My brother decided to order out food for his birthday and he chose this spot. They had a BOGO deal so we got two platters, and they were delivered on time- even early!! The falafels were delicious, the rice and chicken as well, and the hummus and salad were fresh and really good. The pita bread and white sauce were a good compliment to the dish and the baklava was really good too! I would definitely recommend this place, it’s not super expensive and has good food!
