Our first visit to The Casbah Restaurant was such a memorable experience. We went in a bit unsure about Moroccan flavors, but they honestly did not disappoint at all. From the moment you step inside, the whole place feels like you’ve been transported straight to Morocco. The ambience is warm, intimate, and beautifully lit, with romantic music that makes it perfect for a date night or cozy evening out. The food was incredible. Their soups were rich and comforting, and everything had such authentic Moroccan flavors. We had the couscous fassi, which was perfectly spiced and really satisfying, and the pistachio rose dessert—omg, yumm, such a beautiful mix of floral and nutty sweetness. It’s also a great place for vegetarians, with plenty of flavorful options that don’t feel like an afterthought. The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. And you can’t leave without trying their Moroccan tea, which is a highlight on its own. The only small note is that for the price point, a few of the dishes felt a little light in quantity. The quality is definitely there, but you might find yourself wishing the portions were just slightly more generous. Overall, it’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a full experience with amazing food, vibe, and service. Definitely worth going back to.

The setting of this establishment is worth more than five stars! It's located in the basement and occasionally they shut the front door due to winter cold. The restaurant brings you out of this country and set you in an exotic environment. The food is tasty, reasonably salted, and with large portion. Booking recommended, and super friendly staff.

Read recommendations for this on reddit as a great date night restaurant, and I’m so glad we went with it. Not only was the food really unique and new to us, it was also delicious and really well presented. The atmosphere was also absolutely perfect: cosy, intimate, quiet but not boring. It’s really well decorated and the music was great and not too loud. Probably the best part of the whole experience was the service, though. We were never rushed our whole evening, the next course coming out only when we had finished our previous one, and they were on top of drinks without interrupting us constantly. Perfect for an anniversary dinner with my LDR. Try the fisherman’s coffee when you’re there, the black pepper is life-changing.

One of our favorite restaurants in the city! Food is always consistent and service is top notch. 2nd year my 8 year old requested to go for her birthday. The moment you walk in, you are transported into Morocco. Every seat feels like a private room where you are surrounded by beautiful Moroccan lights, comfy seats and cozy ambiance. They have reasonably priced dinner sets that include hairia soup, appetizer, salad, main and dessert.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and drove from Medicine Hat after reading great reviews about its romantic atmosphere and excellent food. The dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, definitely worth the trip. The only downside was the service, which felt a bit slow and inconsistent compared to other tables. A warmer and more attentive approach would have made the evening perfect. Overall, a lovely restaurant with amazing food, just a bit of room for improvement in service.
