Halal Munchies is the closest experience to NYC chicken and rice here in DFW. The food is incredible, and I loved their white sauce. The hot sauce is so good, and it actually has a kick. We've been there twice now, and both times it's been delicious. The staff there are so nice, and the owner was a real chill dude. Seating is limited to about 20 seats. Definitely recommend this place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) I came in with decent expectations because the reviews are very positive, but overall this place ended up being pretty average. Starting with the positives: the restaurant looks great. Very clean, modern decor, nice aesthetics, and plenty of parking in the area. Staff was fine, no complaints there. It’s also open late, which is probably its biggest advantage if you’re looking for halal food late at night. Now the food, which is where it really falls short. The mozzarella sticks were honestly bad. Someone highly recommended them in the reviews, but they were some of the worst I’ve had. I ended up throwing them away. The wings were nothing special either, tasted like frozen wings glazed with sauce. Very generic. We ordered the chicken and gyro combo platter, and this is where the biggest disappointment was. If you’re going to serve platters, they have to be held to New York standards, because that’s where platters really come from. And this doesn’t come close. When food carts in NYC are doing platters better than a full sit-down establishment, that’s a problem. The chicken and gyro lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. A lot of food coloring, very little spice, and no real punch. Everything tasted greasy and hot, but not flavorful. The rice was supposed to be spicy but had zero heat and no character at all. Just plain, bland rice. The fries were clearly Cisco frozen fries, nothing house-made or special. Salad was fresh. Sauces were decent and probably the strongest part of the platter. Overall, there’s nothing unique or memorable here. It honestly reminded me of OG Chicken and Gyro. For Dallas standards, this might pass as “okay,” but when compared to real platter spots in New York like Shawarma Bay, Adel’s, and many others, it’s not even in the same conversation. I’m still looking for a platter spot in Dallas that can actually come close to those. Even just looking at photos of the burgers and chicken sandwiches didn’t inspire much confidence to come back and try more items. Not bad, but definitely not great. Very mediocre overall. Based purely on food quality and flavor, I probably wouldn’t return. Solid 3 out of 5.

One of the best Halal places in town. Had wings and a mixed platter, both 10/10. The service is amazing too, amazing people, definitely recommend 💯
