Big scam not affordable prices and even its not for Afghanis and Pakistanis people no traditional dishes at all. First and last experience. My only main concerns is about the traditional foods you guys are totally scamming by using the Helmand name I think you have to stop using this name as you haven’t got anything special Afghani food, You kabli Palau in the platter isn’t really a kabli Palau (lol) we drove one hrs just because of the name but the reality was something different inside the restaurant I think your boss is just targeting American ?? by using afghani name of the restaurant by and taking there money out and serving them a third class food. ? Secondly! About the money spending so I didn’t leave any tip for this kind of service and you adding it from your side and we were 11 people not 18. I already saw menu where you have nothing special afghani food. So if you want you can visit to my home and I can show you some recipes and some good afghani food that will work your prices didn’t match your food as it is a genuine review and I have the right to review on your restaurant and I am not taking it back. Moreover, Responding to my review in this way was not expecting It not what a business man people do. I hope you have a good day. Thank you.

The food here is really delicious, and they start the service with complementary fresh bread. The portions are so large. Fine Afghani dinning to say the least.

I have enjoyed visiting this restaurant for over 25 years. It is my favorite place in the whole greater Boston area. The seasonings are delicious and unlike any other cuisine, fragrant and savory. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable as there is a fireplace and of course the friendly staff and owner who welcome everyone in like family. The aroma of fresh bread made in the oven over wood coals and the lovely decor add to the experience. I highly recommend this wonderful place!

I can't believe what an excellent restaurant this was. The service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Very good serving sizes and very reasonably priced. I plan on eating here again when I come back to Boston

Superb food, very friendly welcoming service. Love the wood fired oven. Complimentary bread and dipping sauces were excellent, baked fresh in front of you. The pumpkin app and stuffed bread was great. Lamb kebab entree also excellent. Perfect for date night. Will come back!

Very delicious food that reminded me of home - Samarkand. Very welcoming staff and well decorated space. We liked their Mantwo, Plov (Qabelee) and cardamom ice-cream. Our favorite spot in Cambridge.

After many years of craving Afghan food, the Helmand exceeded all expectations. We were seated in the dining room with a familial, convivial vibe and the wait staff was wonderful. The bread and three sauces to start was some of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. Truly exceptional. I got the aushak (dumplings with meat and yogurt sauce) as my meal and it didn’t disappoint in any way. Everything was perfection. I tried my husband’s lamb and rice and I could eat that every single day! The place is a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Best afhgan food I’ve ever had!

My wife and I had our lunch wedding reception at The Helmand. Everything was fantastic for our party size of about 75. Ali, Mustafa and the entire team prepared everything so well. They set up the space perfectly, helped out with preparing a space for the children, for dancing and for a short video we played on a projector. We were able to select appetizer and entre items for the buffet and they prepared a wedding cake with their special cake recipe. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere. Many of our guests expressed how much they loved the reception and food, and we trust we will be going back for dinner with them in the future.
