Service: Hopelessly horrible Reasonable wait time: NO Good for kids/family friendly: NO Good for groups: NO Value: None (quality of food did not justify the ridiculously over-priced menu items) Extremely rude owner/waiter (man in a suit and tie without any table manners)
I first discovered Salloos more than a decade ago while on a temporary assignment in London. Almost immediately I took a liking for this place. It has an old world charm, and an under stated elegance in its service. After that for almost ten years I stopped going to Salloos, this was by no mean a voluntary action, I was a victim of a rumor that Salloos has shut down. Then, by accident, walking around Belgravia (the heart of London) some two years ago, much to my pleasant surprise, I found Salloos once again. I found out that it had never shut down, some jealous competitor had just spread a vicious rumor that it had. Anyway the place is exactly as I remember it. The same fine food, very Pakistani. The same upscale atmosphere, very English. One can say this is the best of east and west. It is always a pleasure to visit Salloos. A little pricey but then worth every cent (or shall we say penny).
Better than average food but overpriced.
Food here is fantastic, go regularly and enjoy it every time!
Food is excellent but expensive. Service is excellent. Owner is muslim from Lahore Pakistan. Their Karahi Gosht is superb. Lamb chops are very good. A must go place.
Very upscale established Pakistani restaurant.
Last week I went on a date to Salloos in Knightsbridge. The atmosphere was elegant. For starters we had lovely seeded poppadoms, jumbo tandoori king prawns, and for our main chicken shish kebab served from an iron skewer, lamb curry, their signature chicken karahi, pulao rice and lovely red wine to go with? The best Pakistani food I have ever had! Will definitely be going back. It’s a wonderful place for a romantic dinner. Hidden gem in the heart of Belgravia. It’s on a little side walk right opposite the Berkeley hotel so it can easily be missed!
I am a fan of homemade, traditional cooking and by far this is the best Pakistani restaurant I have been to. Salloos is the perfect restaurant to dine at after a long day of shopping. It is incredibly cosy yet chic and clean, the staff is also very welcoming. Most important of all the food is absolutely delicious. I am now a regular customer and as it is just by Berkeley hotel, we usually pop into the famous blue bar after dining at Salloos. During this time I also order takeaways which is just as enjoyable. I recommend with all my heart!
Found this restaurant tucked away in the Knightsbridge area - honestly London's best kept secret! Had the Tandoori Lamb Chops, Chicken Shish Kebab, and Lamb curry; was not disappointed. If you’re looking for a quiet place with amazing food and drinks in central London, you will love Salloos!
We found this gem thru Google Maps. The restaurant is so quaint. The host was very welcoming. We didn't have reservations, but she greeted us with such a friendly approach. We are a party of 4, so we decided to have a family sharing style. All our food was prepared fresh and all very tasty. The serving portion is ok (maybe we are so used to US standards, haha). But service is the highlight of our visit. Try this restaurant, you will not be disappointed! We met the lady owner of the restaurant as well. All the best, Salloos ~
AMAZING & tasty food. A friend living in Knightsbridge who loves eating out & ordering many takeaways as I do, recommended Salloos. I was amazed to learn Salloos has been open since 1976 & somehow I have missed it! My son & I recently decided to try their food, ordered a takeaway and tried a few of their dishes, all simply tasted the best Pakistani & Indian we have ever had, with so much flavour. Regular customer now that we have tried their fresh & delicious tasty food. Can’t wait for Lockdown to be over to eat there. Highly recommend if you are a food lover, like us!
The cosiest restaurant in Knightsbridge. Stumbled across this gem wandering around after a day at Harrods. The signature chicken shish was served fresh off the grill! Lovely atmosphere and nice music. The staff was so attentive keeping everything clean. Definitely the best Pakistani food I’ve had in London.
If I could give it zero stars I would If you’re looking for a great “Indian” restaurant in London, this is definitely not the place to go. Despite its high ratings, many of them are outdated, with most being over a year old. I recently visited with my family for a calm evening, and while the initial impression was promising with the restaurant’s beautiful ambiance, it quickly fell apart. Oddly, they were playing classical music, which felt out of place and mismatched the setting. When the food arrived, we were excited, especially for their so-called signature dish, the tandoori lamb chops, described on the menu as “legendary, melt-in-your-mouth tender and moist.” Unfortunately, the reality was the opposite—they were overcooked, dry, and utterly bland. The disappointment continued with the chicken tikka, which lacked any sauce or seasoning. We also ordered plain and garlic naan, but there was almost no difference between the two, as the garlic naan was virtually flavorless. The biryani rice was underwhelming, and we regretted not just ordering plain rice. The okra, which we thought would be a safe option, was watered down and lacked the bold flavors Indian cuisine is known for. The samosas were tiny, overpriced, and lacked quality. The “vegetable kebab,” described as “smooth” and “spicy,” was neither—it arrived cold, flavorless, and not even on a skewer (despite seeing someone else in the restaurant served a kebab). It was so unappealing we had to send it back. Overall, this meal was a huge letdown and absolutely not worth the money we spent. A beautiful ambiance can’t make up for food this disappointing. Save your time and money by looking elsewhere.
One of the best Pakistani restaurants I’ve ever tried Worth the try
