This restaurant serves Traditional west African Cuisine with a specialty in Senegalese Food. Some of their dishes are Mafe Yap (peanut butter sauce with lamb stew & ground okra), Curry Ganar (chicken with curry sauce and vegetables) and Joloff Veggie (Joloff rice with vegetables). They are the only halal restaurant that is right near Masjid Al-Ihsaan. To get there, take the C train to the Clinton-Washington stop and get off at the exit farthest east.

The service and prices are good, the owners are friendly and nice and the food is excellent. If you're not from any country in Africa, then it'll be unlike anything you've ever eaten. Give it a try, you may love it and what have you got to lose? I recommend the chicken with peanut butter sauce or chicken with lemon onion sauce for an entree and the pastels (both fish and veggie are good) for appetizers. The lamb and fish dishes are also very good. If you like Sengalese food then you'll love Joloff's. Also try their lime iced tea, it's delicious! Highly recommended.
