Give you lots of food and very good!
I have been here at least 5 times. Most of the time I have picked up food to go. The quantity is large and the food is tasty. The taste varies as the meat varies, so at times it was bland. Do I like this place, absolutely. A perfect place to pick up stuff to go, as the ambiance is too Dhaba like.
The thing I love about this place is its menu. They have five items -- beef, goat, chicken, lamb, and fish. Those are the names of the dishes. I\'ve been a couple times, and I\'ve enjoyed it a ton both times. It\'s the only place I\'ve ever had Somali food, so I don\'t really have a frame of reference for Somali food connoisseurs, but I find the food unique and delicious. It\'s definitely not a fancy place, much more a hole-in-the-wall, but I think it\'s great. It\'s a place I often recommend and a place I definitely want to check out again.
They have goat meat and chicken served either with seasoned rice or pasta . Limited menu but good taste .
I am an indian and I visit this place often. One cos its near my place, second cos I like the muslim owner Mr Hussain, third cos the food is delicious and last cos I can take my time, watch tv with remote in my hand and enjoy the cozy laidback environment. The food options are less here but serves a filling delicious meal. The meal options are rice or spaghetti with Meat, Salad and a banana all for 10 bucks. They have fully halal beef steak, lamb, chicken or fish. The meal has good quantity so I often pack half for another meal. A small meal option would have been great but I doubt if they have it. They have it on the wall-menu though..I might ask the owner about it. This place is Somali, hence lots of Afro-american muslims frequent here. More muslims should frequent here to check out the food and the casual environment. I am not being a textbook reviewer here but I cant think of anything under 5 stars for this place cos I love it :). Update: I checked with the owner about the source of meat and he said they are halal certified meat from new zealand. He is 100% sure about the lamb but rest is tricky. So you might wanna confirm if you are strict about it.
Really good and yummy meal. Seemed like home cooked meal and the portion was huge. The set meal with soup, banana and ginger tea is worth its value. I had the lamb and rice. Rice was so flavorful. A definite visit again when im back in LA.
My first time eating here and I was blown away by the food quality. The Rice and Lamb platter exceeded my expectations, boasting excellence in both taste and portion sizes. They also have complimentary tea further elevating dining experience. Definitely coming again.
The food is very tasty and clean and it deserves 5 ⭐️. Service is very quick and friendly. The tea is so good and bottomless pot, which is complimentary and all you can drink. The only critique is the dining area can be improved. It needs a serious makeover.
Instead of sitting in rush hour traffic after a 5 pm arrival to LAX, we stopped here for the goat and lamb. Both were amazing (tender meat, caramelized veggies, delicious rice—and that green sauce!) with really big portions (leftovers!). No nonsense mom and pop kinda spot that just has fantastic food, good prices, and a friendly vibe.
If you want to have some extremely tasty food, do visit this restaurant. The mutton is so delicious. The vegetable soup comes with it and is absolutely delicious. Do not forget to try the Somali tea. Every time I am in LA, I make sure I eat at this spot.
The rice that they serve is great. Meat choices are dependent on the customer. I didn't fully like the quality of the goat meat. Otherwise everything tastes good. The clear vegetable soup was very refreshing.
Delicious food. Excellent Service by the owner. You will never be disappointed. Do make reservation and they close by 8:30. Their last order by 8pm. Surely will come again. ?
My x uncle in law took my aunt and me to this place for lunch day after Christmas all the way from the valley because he really likes the food here. My aunt and uncle both really enjoyed their meals but me not so much. The waitress was very nice and engaged in conversation with my uncle like he is a regular. My uncle and I shared the mixed plate with goat and lamb and my aunt had salmon. The soup was okay that was served before the meal and there was a lot of food once we got the meal. My aunt enjoyed the salmon and of course my uncle ate plenty but the meat was a little chewier than I prefer. I did enjoy hanging out with my uncle so that excuses me being underwhelmed by the food.
