Chicken laksa. Solid overall. Vermicelli noodles. Standard chicken fillet pieces, reasonably tender. Tofu is decent. Laksa reasonably spicy and fragrant with coconut milk. Decent op for $18, but missing complexity of flavour and quality of ingredients to compete with the greats.
Ordered a pineapple fried rice and it tasted like a combination of all the ingredients. Not really good Malay food. Don’t deserve the price. Recommend Malay Malay in Market City. They do better Nasi Lemak as well. Apart from that they have a super big painting named ‘bride’ on the wall but it is so creepy and will remind you have the horror old HK or Thai movies. I don’t really understand the purpose of hanging that kind of drawing in a famous restaurant to the local.
I remember it to be better. Maybe I just got unlucky with my Hainan chicken - it was ok but a bit dry and not something I would have again. My husband seemed to enjoy his vegetarian curry and roti though :)
A hidden Malaysian Chinese restaurant in lane way of Broadway. I have visited this place many times, before and after the change in chefs. This restaurant has a casual vibe, not hawker style but also not like those wannabe up market Malaysian restaurants which charges an arm and a leg. Malacca Straits is popular for students and local staff and one of the long time restaurants in the precinct. The Har Mee has a strong prawn flavour, and recommend the angel prawns and ayam percik. This chicken curry has tender pieces and strong aromas. The chik ku teh (which we usually order as well) is addictive. The let down is the rice - it's a big hard, but is ok if you eat it with the sauces. Overall recommend this restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner. ??
Nice Malaysian dishes, The Wat Dan Hor was nice with fresh seafood, got a nice wok hay! The fried tofu here was really good which i recommend coming here for!
Returned to the famous Malacca Straits after many years, and I must admit the food quality was not as good as before. The crispt egg salad was still delicious on the other hand. It was pricey and the service was okay.

Best Cendol in Sydney. We came after a long time and the lady owner continues to carry her angry face as if customers are dining on charity.
