ZERO Stars. Despite high prices suggesting a quality experience, the food was extremely disappointing. I have had better microwaves & uber takaways for less than 1/4 the price. After a wonderful theatre show at the Eventim Apollo, we chose this restaurant for convienience next door, hoping to end a long-awaited theatre evening we had saved up for with a nice dining experience. A treat for our retired mother with the intent of making a memorable moment for her. Begining with my request that the restaurant was COLD (This has been noted by previous reviewers) my comment was met with an offended rebuttle that the heating was on. It felt not. Sitting in a cold restaurant with my family. The 2nd red flag, my Masala Chai tea was served to me in a cardboard takaway cup! before I requested a real tea cup to the proprietors surprise. The food was served warm, of questionable freshness, with both the butter chicken and chicken tikka lacking spices and blandly tasting like tomato purée sauce, portions very steep. The dark grubby basement toilet, located uncomfortably close to the kitchen, were poorly maintained & worryingly unclean, partly patched up with heavily soiled duck tape. Overall, it was a total let-down and a disappointing end to an otherwise beautiful theatre day out. I wish an unsatisfied review came with a refund. We felt robbed of our hard earnt cash. It felt like a money grab in exchange for less than half-hearted cleanliness, service & food. FOLLOW UP RESPONSE TO A DISHONEST MANAGEMENT REPLY: The owners response attempts to defensively undermine the true sequence of events in a way that lacks integrity and trust. For clarity, here are the facts: • We did not at all “request a takaway" nor say "were in a hurry” The reservation was pre-booked for 4 in advance (evidence added to photos). • Food was ordered, eaten and paid for from a selection of the menu. Contrary to the untruth that "food that was never ordered, nor consumed" (proof of receipt added in photos). I regularly review restaurants internationally and almost without exception leave inspired 5-star reviews. I have never posted a warning. Doing so here felt necessary so others can make an informed decision before spending their hard-earned money. If you’ve read this review upto here - including the dismissive tone of management’s response. You will be able to decide for yourself whether this is somewhere you wish to dine. I wish you well with that choice.
