Staff has given verbal assurance of halal status.. From the management: 'Yes, we do serve Halal food. Everything in the menu is halal except the Chapandaz.'
Ariana restaurant opened in June of 2010 serving cousins from Afghanistan. We are the second Afghani restaurant in Massachusetts. Our specialty is the lamp dishes, such as Chopan (Rack of lamb marinated, grilled and served on a bed of bread with sautéed eggplant and pallow rice). Dopiaza (Marinated then grilled leg of lamb, sautéed with yellow split peas and tossed with onions lightly marinated in vinegar, served with garlic, mushrooms and pallow rice), Korma Challow (Leg of lamb sautéed with onions, tomatoes, garlic, green beans, potatoes and spices served with lentils and challow rice) and Shish Kabob (Char-broiled leg of lamb marinated in a puree of onion, sun dried baby grapes and garlic, served with sautéed eggplant and pallow rice). We also offer verity of vegetarian dishes. Currently serving lunch Mon - Fri from 11:30 to 2:30.

The food was phenomenal!
We went out for dinner with a friend who\'s visiting from London. This place was chosen because of it\'s strategic location near Allston/Brighton and closed to the T. This is a fine dining restaurant so expect the price to be a little bit high because of the service. I could not remember what we had because of the name, but everything was delicious. I am not sure about authenticity because this is the first time me tasting Afghani food. Whenever I passed by, this restaurant is always crowded. So I would say it serves good food. It\'s just that I think I\'m not a big fan of Afghani cuisine.
We were visiting Boston and decided to give this place a try. The food was very good and Dalia provided good recommendations and served with a smile. We had the Chopan, Challow and the Kabob. All of them were delicious. I would also like to add that the rice was excellent. I would definitely go back if I am in the area again.
I have been to this Resturant several times and the food is always good. Authentic afghani food!
This place was highly recommended by the locals and when we got there it was PACKED; the food did not disappoint; i wanted to try as many items as possible having heard such great reviews; we ordered 3 appetizers, the kaddo, aush soup and manto all of which were amazing; the entrees were excellent as well; i had the kofta and my wife had the korma challow; best afghani food i've ever had
Great afghan restaurant! Inside the vibe is earthtone pained walls with beauty handmade rugs decorating the floor. To add to the ambiance was authentic Afghan music being played. The food was delicious and of high quality. Portions are on the small side, but well worth the price. I had the following for dinner: Kaddo- pan fried pumpkin covered in sugar and covered with a beef sauce. This is like a deconstructed pumpkin pie covered. Greate textures with tender pieces of whole pumpkin and the beef on top. Lightly sweet and very savory. So yummy. 5/5 Chopan- delicious rack of lamb! High quality and perfectly cooked. There was a beautiful (natural) smokiness that added to the deepy savoriness the herbs they used. Came with a tasty sauteed eggplant and pillow rice. 5/5 Pineapple cake- this was good. Not overly sweet. Subtle pineapple flavor. Not too heavy not too light. Wish it was just a bit more moist though. Still a good way to end a meal. 4/5 I highly recommend giving this place. I will absolutely be coming here again
I can't believe I just found out about this authentic Afghani restaurant right in my town. It was such a wonderful experience and all of the flavours were so vibrant and warm. Would highly recommend this place! It's in a convenient place on Western Ave and they are open on weekdays until 10 pm! The only thing I would say was that the food was a little on the warm side, and not as hot as I would have liked. Other than that, everything was fantastic.
Nice restaurant! Food was good and loved trying Afghani cuisine. But the desserts were beyond delicious. Must try the desserts here!
Came to Ariana on the recommendation of a friend who raved about the flavorful food and we were not disappointed. The mix of spices in the soup (aush), the kebabs, sauces and challow were delicious. Desserts should not be passed up either, all made with a variation of pistachio and cardamom flavoring. All of this was delivered with excellent, friendly service. The owner stopped by twice himself to make sure everything was in order. We will certainly be back.
We have been enjoying Ariana years, especially for family gatherings. This year we celebrated my parents’ 80th and it was a lovely evening. The private room for parties accommodated our group of 20 or so friends and family. Our hosts at the restaurant were wonderful. And all our guests enjoyed the food which was served family style. Highly recommend the restaurant in general and also for hosting an event.
Good halal food but way overpriced. Nice outdoor seating. We had Qabili, kofta challow, aushak, bowlawni, and aushak. They have a separate vegetarian section on their menu.
We were exploring the Cambridge area and stopped by Ariana for some dinner. We were 5 people and ordered the Ariana platter which was the perfect amount of food for us. The food was pretty delicious! Definitely recommend this platter if you are a large group.
Came here as a recommendation from a colleague and the food did not disappoint! The flavors were delicious, especially loved their eggplant dish and the char flavor from the grilled lamb. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes
