With some Olympic events in Lille it would make sense for a lot of international tourists who don’t speak French to come to the city to support the athletes competing. Me being an international tourist from the USA of Asian descent, I was greeted with a “nihao samurai” because I don’t know French. Firstly, for the owner, is that “nihao” and “samurai” are words from different languages- Chinese and Japanese- both of which I can’t speak or understand. Pretty ignorant and offensive if you ask me. Secondly, you should not wipe your forehead sweat then roll my shawarma without gloves. It’s pretty nasty that you’re wiping your sweat, touching multiple kitchen items, and handling my food without washing your hands or wearing gloves. Thirdly, the food wasn’t the greatest for the price. You had tough meat that was not seasoned well. Actually it’s probably a perfect compliment to the unseasoned french fries I did not finish either. To be honest I probably wouldn’t feed this to my dog. I think the only thing I finished was the Coke Zero. Overall, if you’re visiting Lille, this place should be avoided for the obvious reasons- unsanitary food handling and underwhelming food.
