A True Taste of Uganda 🇺🇬🍛 Rich, Authentic Ugandan Home Cooking I’ve been making an effort to explore traditional dishes from different countries, and Ugandan cuisine was next on my list. I noticed there aren’t many Ugandan restaurants around, so I decided to give Jambo Zamsareh a try. I already had a good idea of the dishes I wanted to experience, and this place delivered far beyond expectations. When we arrived as a group, the owner was incredibly accommodating and helped put together a fantastic spread so we could try a wide range of flavours from the menu. That personal touch really made the experience stand out. We had fish stew, chicken stew, and beef stew, each one deeply seasoned and full of flavour. The chapatis were soft and freshly made, while the pilao rice was fragrant and well-spiced. We also tried traditional staples like matooke (mashed green banana), posho (ugali), and sweet potatoes, which added great balance and texture to the meal. Crab eye beans and ground peanut sauce brought extra richness, while dishes like cow foot, Oluwombo with meat, and Katoogo with meat gave a real sense of home-style Ugandan cooking. Most of my friends originally turned down the invite, but they seriously missed out. The food was hearty, authentic, and incredibly satisfying, and we were even given a great deal to enjoy the full experience. I’ll definitely be coming back, and next time I’ll be bringing a bigger group. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience genuine Ugandan cuisine.
