I spoke with a waitress in the restaurant and she confirmed that the meat was Halal, but they use alcohol to prepare the sauces.
I come here to eat whenever I have free time. The sauce blends perfectly with the meat, creating a delicious flavor. Besides, the restaurant also has an ideal view, allowing me to enjoy my meal while watching the street.
The food was just average and while the atmosphere was fine, I can’t shake off my concerns about the service. You have to order through a kiosk and then wait for a table after you place your order. I was there with kids and there was no menu to look at? One of the kiosks wasn’t working, which meant I had to reset it and try to order again. The floor felt a bit oily and messy, and the restroom wasn't very clean—maybe it's just because the building is old. Not cheap :(
Fan of pepper lunch wherever I go. Not expecting the same authentic quality when you are in Japan but overtime the prices have really increased significantly and the quality being served has subside. Happy to pay higher price but if the quality and portion is decreased its disappointing. The wagyu Karubi has lots of fatty portion. Very thin slice and no more proper presentation. Their prices do not include GST so its another disappointing catch at the bill total. Imagine another 10% plus the card surcharge. The staff has no engagement, theyre just there to silently work autonomously. No smile and hi hello when serving food. Just bringing in the plates to your table thats it. They also dont mention that theres a self serve water at the very least. The tables have hardly any gaps as they try to fit in more chairs. The sweet and garlic sauces are still the only reason that makes this steak house distinct. Its still a fairly good casual meal to enjoy once in a while. But surely theres more steak places to try in Melbourne than experience the same thing again.
Whilst my food (the Kimchi beef pepper rice with cheese) was pretty good ( a little bit over seasoned but that’s fine). My friends curry beef rice was not good at all.
Like other branches this is also good! Obviously is can get quite busy and crowded but the service is generally good. Food was very nice and came out quick. Always recommend the jumbo classic beef. Personally love the udon and add some kimchi. Halal meat!
Pepar Lunch is a good place for having your eating Japanese Food . The taste is quite good . We tried Sizzling Chicken Taraki Rice with Katsu Curry and Tofu and Vegi Kimchi Pepper Rice with Cheese. Both were really tasty with the Chicken dish a spicy one . Try once .
Used to be a good quick lunch fix, but the quality has gone downhill considerably. Meat potions are abysmally small and dry. Sorry excuse of a chicken breast, with cheap filler vegetables to pad out the plate. And don't get me started on the drinks that are 80% ice. For the same price, you could get a much more decent meal at a sit down restaurant. The only good thing this place has going is the free self serve sauces which are honestly delicious, and the novelty sizzling hotplate feature.
I come here for lunch and dinner. Food is always good. Quality of the meat is a solid 8/10. Always busy so a bit hard to find seats. They got my order wrong though it’s still very good. Wish the wait staff will take a better look if what they are serving is right or wrong. I’m still gonna come back and eat to this place. Tried their miso soup and it was sad to say, bland. Would recommend if you want to eat something heavy yet for a very good price. Also the Yuzu drinks are very nice and refreshing. Would also recommend ? I recommend coming here if you are VERY hungry. ????️
