Really good food at a really nice place. We go here every week with family and friends and have a great time. Their breakfasts are amazing as well as their coffee
I\\\'m really happy this place exists. It\\\'s a beautiful little spot, at the District in Tustin. I would call the place dainty and a bit posh. A great place for coffee and pastries. I went with a friend that\\\'s somewhat a coffee connoisseur, and he thought the coffee excellent. \r\n\r\nIt adds to the diversity of halal options, which is good, but the flipside of that is that it also is not your typical halal spot. I think this may be the only halal cafe I\\\'ve been to in America, which is what makes this place truly unique.\r\n\r\nBecause it\\\'s a cafe, it\\\'s really not a place to go for if you\\\'re in the mood for a ton of meat. While all the meat on the menu is halal, the meat is definitely not the signature of the cafe. They have sojouk (a spicy Turkish sausage) in various items, and maybe a few meat-based sandwiches, but it\\\'s not a place where you\\\'re going to eat a ton of meat. Many of the most appetizing things on the menu were vegetarian, or had just a slight smattering of meat in them. I went with two friends for breakfast, and I was the only one who got something with meat in their order. I can\\\'t imagine going to another halal restaurant where that would be the case. Still, I\\\'m grateful that this place exists, and I really do appreciate that the cafe is fully halal.\r\n\r\nIf you\\\'re in the area, this place is definitely worth checking out. It\\\'s absolutely beautiful. It\\\'s unique. I look forward to trying other things on the menu.
I read about this restaurant in a travel blog. This is in a very nice shopping mall with ample parking. It is upscale and very clean. The staff confirmed that all the meat was halal and there was no pork. There are no Pakistani or Arabic foods in the menu. I ordered the American Breakfast which was excellent. The breakfast sandwiches were hit or miss. Coffee was very good. I would come here again.
I have to call the hours into question. It seems they are NOT open 24...but from 8 in the morning to 10 in the evening. Can someone verify?
I love the vibe of this place. The wait staff is wonderful. It is in a great location with ample parking. However, I wish that they would put more care into the food. I can see that the cantaloupes they use was cut the night before and left in the fridge and it has a different look when it is freshly cut. And while I have not tried the other pastries, the croissant I had tasted like it was from Costco. When I go to an European style Café, I expect fantastic pastries with lots of taste of butter and freshness. Croissant has failed this taste. I have tried the Baklava and it is not bad. The eggs are cooked OK. I hope that they will realize that seed oils are bad and they should advertise that they do not use seed oils in their cooking. They do not have heavy cream. Which makes me question what ingredients they use in their cooking. Heavy cream is quintessential for European cooking. And the butter they use did not taste like it was of a high quality.
Utopia European Cafe is a charming spot nestled in the District Plaza, boasting beautiful decor that sets a warm and inviting tone. I ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast, Turkish Coffee, and Orange Juice. The meal was delightful, with a delicious and unique selection of cheeses that truly stood out. However, I wish there had been a bit more sujuk, as the portion felt a little light for the price. Another downside was the extra charge for an additional piece of bread, which seemed unnecessary given the nature of the dish. Overall, Utopia is a lovely cafe with a distinct European touch, but small tweaks in portion sizes and pricing policies could make the experience even better.
I have been here so many times, and I pray every single time I come here that it will get better than the last time I came. I ordered the Sajouk Panini and it was absolutely horrendous. It tasted like airplane food that they warmed up in the microwave, the meat tasted stale, the bread was so soggy and tasteless. Having eight at some of Orange County’s best brunch, places and restaurants, I highly suggest and recommend that you don’t come here to waste your money. I also ordered French toast, which was absolutely disgusting, no flavor, no effort put into the food. The presentation was good, the food is horrible. Don’t get me started on the service. The two Mexican ladies in the front at the cash register or extremely disrespectful, I politely asked to change my order because it was not good, and they completely refused to, even though I hadn’t even taken a bite, it just didn’t even look appetizing. They make the food really fast, it takes them less than two minutes to make a sandwich, it is not good. I am usually never this picky or ever leave reviews for places, but this place really set me the wrong way.
UPD. I came back and tries breakfast there and it was good. So I am adding one star. But I still do not understand the idea - it is written "European" but a lot of Turkish stuff is inside like Turkish sweets and coffee. Some people wrote here in their reviews that this place is "halal" but they serve bacon... Friendly service but the food is simply not tasty. I took my tuna salad with me but could not finish it at home - too vinegary and no taste balance. So it went to the trash. Pasta was just ok. Idk why they call it European - it's has nothing common with European food.
We are local to the District and wanted to give Utopia a try. The cafe is adorable with an eclectic vibe - Turkish, Parisian fusion. The staff was friendly and service was great. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. I ordered the Parisian omelet and my daughter ordered the American Breakfast. The Parisian omelet was extremely bland wherein the eggs appeared to be artificial and the cheese had zero flavor. The bread was cold, smashed, and like cardboard. The American Breakfast was similar in that the scrambled eggs with cheese were like rubber with zero flavor. The “salami” was fine. The pancakes were abnormally sweet. The best part of both meals were the potato wedges -10/10! The hot vanilla latte was pretty good but the coffee had a slight burnt flavor but overall decent. The iced vanilla almond latte was also good with slightly burnt coffee. I’m sad this was not a better experience!
It’s been a while I haven’t been in a nicer breakfast place like this one. Everything very fresh and well done. We’ve been served by Nacho he is a very nice guy and will take care of you absolutely great vibes and time here surrounded by good vibes, food and people
Quaint and unassuming spot, very elegant, we were looking for something to eat halal and came across this spot. Walking in you find yourself in a very pleasant atmosphere. Prices are affordable and many options on the menu. Came in for breakfast , Ordered the American breakfast platter and an Americano coffee. The coffee was smooth and flavorful perfect ??. The platter was phenomenal and tasty.... Definitely better than many breakfast spots...
Excellent Service from Nacho! I had an amazing experience eating my breakfast, and a big part of that was thanks to our server, Nacho! From the moment we sat down, he was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, but the service truly made the meal even better. Nacho's professionalism and great attitude created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend. !
