A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises.. From the management: 'Maast Indian is 100% Halal'
Since our modest beginnings in 2020 our little Indian takeout from Irvine's virtual kitchen, Maast Indian's development has been enlivened with the energy to cook and serve a creative fusion menu, with dine in and patio seating options. In contrast to other Indian eateries, "˜Maast Indian is made with the explicit expectation to appear as something else. The adaptable menu flaunts some imaginative food, along with our traditional menu of curry bowls served with rice and paratha we boast of a very creative Indian Mexican fusion menu serving burritos inspired from Indian street food kathi rolls, frankie or wraps. Filled with biryani style rice, choice of proteins and our amazing sauces.

Absolutely amazing good every single time. They have daily/weekly specials and the hakka noodles just hit all the right spots. The family that runs the place are the sweetest people ever. Service is fast, food is fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
Maast Indian Fusion in Irvine is an absolute delight for fusion food lovers! My personal favorite is the Kadhai Paneer Parathadilla – a perfect blend of bold, spicy flavors wrapped in a flaky, crispy paratha. It’s comforting and flavorful, with every bite packed with the essence of traditional Indian spices. The Tandoori Paneer Sandwich is another must-have! The smoky, well-marinated paneer pairs beautifully with the fresh bread and tangy sauces, making it an unforgettable dish. For anyone visiting, these are must-try items that truly showcase the creativity and excellence of Maast’s menu!
If you’re looking for a traditional, sit down Indian restaurant, this is likely not it. Imagine a more fast casual Indian spot meets Chipotle style Indian burritos/bowls vibe.. but with overall delicious food! The chaat or street bites were all great! Pani puri was what you’d expect, and good Dahi vada - great! Pav Bhaji - worth trying if you like this! Stand out was the daal makhani.. tasted like the homemade version, came out piping hot.. outstanding Maybe not my favorite.. and just ‘different’, was getting all the food in ‘to go’ bowls, plates etc.. despite eating in. Felt odd to be served that way, especially with Indian food (even the chai came in a to go cup)
This place is EXCELLENT!!! Soooh DELICIOUS ?. Family owned and operated. There is a BEAUTIFUL Mural on the wall done with chalk by the Mother and daughter ❤️. I took the food to go, OMG , IT WAS AWESOME ?. WE GOT THE COMBO THAT CAME WITH RICE, BREAD, ABD CHOICES OF PROTEIN. YOU CAN CHOOSE THE AMOUNT OF CHILE FROM MILD TO XXXXXX-HOT.Come and try this food. You will very, very pleased. The staff was Professional, Knowledgeable, Friendly and NICE... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ?
Once you get past the confusion of the menu the food tastes great for a quick eat. I had the butter chicken munch wrap with masala fries. What let the experience down is the owner rushing you out the door before even placing your order. Website says 7:30pm closing but apparently that means 7pm so even arriving close to before 7pm created a confusing rushed experience. Was told where to sit and generally felt rushed out and an inconvenience to the owner. I was out by 7:28pm but overall the rushed experience and lack of overall hospitality let the place down. Lights were off at 7:29pm. I would have expected to feel a bit more of a welcome considering the place was basically empty with only 2 other customers in the time I was there, and the fact I relied on Google rating to venture over from Irvine Spectrum. Bare this in mind if you’re looking to check this place out anywhere near closing.
EXCELLENT! Everything about it exceeded my expectations. The beautiful decor, the polite, caring and efficient service. We ordered the munch wrap and coconut curry bowl. We loved it. And if I were to rank my preferred cuisines, Indian would not top it. That's only because not all indian food to me tastes like MAAST Indian food :) I'm glad we found this family business.
Friendly service. Burrito was quite large. Filled with rice, onion, tomato, butter chicken (I asked for chicken tikka masala and was told the butter chicken is the same sauce, I also opted for no lettuce), it was quite delicious. I ordered it spicy and it delivered. I went with the combo - fries for $1.50, no drink. The fries were hot and fresh but didn’t have much, if any, seasoning. When I got to the bottom of the bag, I tasted the masala seasoning for the fries - which was excellent but didn’t stick to the fries or just wasn’t enough of it put on them. Would definitely come back - ample parking and decent amount of seating. I came in around 5:30pm and it wasn’t crowded.
I enjoy eating at Maast Indian. A good place for a quick tasty lunch. My favorite are the burritos, and I’ve enjoyed a korma burrito and butter chicken burrito. Service is good and staff is friendly. Another good halal option in the area, and nice that it’s right off the freeway so accessible.
