Oporto's founder Antonio Cerqueira opened his first Portuguese-style chicken restaurant in North Bondi in 1986, stunning the locals' taste-buds and quickly gaining a growing army of fans. That first splash of Antonio's secret and now legendary addictive sauces grew into a wave of great taste that now satisfies millions of people a year! It's not just the chicken that's different at Oporto. We're Aussie through and through - with the genuinely friendly and relaxed atmosphere you'd expect from a 100% Australian owned company. Add a strict adherence to the very highest standards of freshness and quality, the secret sauces and fresh-not-frozen, grilled-not-fried chicken and chicken burgers and it's no wonder Oporto is so deliciously ...irresistible!
The menus clearly state that halal food is served. From the management: 'While the chickens we receive are Halal certified, meaning preparation is prescribed by Muslim law, from our supplier Summertime, Oporto stores are not Halal certified. We have procedures in place to ensure separation and correct handling occurs, but we are unable to guarantee no cross contamination between chicken and non-Halal products occur during our cooking processes. If you're interested, the following products are Halal certified from our supplier Summertime: Whole Chicken, Fillets, Bites and Grilled Tenders. Please note that our Spicy Chicken Bolas are not Halal certified.
Score reflects a halal certificate on file.
