I joined a few friends for Saturday lunch. A prior reviewer said that they didn’t have a lunch buffet despite advertising one, but they did have a buffet when we went there yesterday. Me and a friend had the buffet while one of my friends ordered the goat curry and another ordered the Hyderabadi Mirchi and Baigan Ka Saalan. I tasted everything offered on the buffet and tried a bit of my friend’s dishes as well. The buffet was fairly minimal and poorly labeled, for instance a sectioned samosas had fried potatoes instead. As to be expected at most Indian buffets, the spice level was dialed down to the lowest common denominator, but the food was fine, and I particularly found the mango chicken decently flavorful. Of my Friend’s choices, the eggplant dish was the most interesting, both sweet and savory. They did offer us a basket of naan, which was nice. It’s possible that came with the buffet. In general though I thought the food was just okay. I’ve certainly had worse Indian food, but there’s also a lot better. What I will say is that the price point, especially for around Harvard Square, was extremely reasonable and while one of my friends thought the chai had a bit too much star anise taste, I was just thankful for some dark rich flavor. The atmosphere was pleasant and they allowed us to stay and chat for quite some time through two o clock in the afternoon despite being the only ones in the restaurant. All in all, if you’re looking for cheap(ish) decent(ish) Indian food in Harvard Square it’s a perfectly respectable option.
I got recommended the Aloo Gobhi (cauliflower and potatoes) by the chef. It was much better than I expected and had good flavor. I asked for a smaller serving size so I'm not sure the typical serving size, though maybe it is still a bit expensive.
The first 2 photos are posted by Punjab Express on Google maps on what they will be serving as Chicken Biryani, the next 2 photos are what I received as Chicken Biryani. Its nothing but undercooked chicken curry with white soggy rice
Delicious buffet for a great price. Very polite and attentive waiter. The restaurant was very clean. The food was plentiful and the saag paneer was out of this world! The kheer was perfect with just the right amount of sweetness. My husband loved the pakura. The chicken dishes were flavorful and tender.
Lovely people and a wonderful restaurant. Their food is delicious and it’s only exceeded by their outstanding service! You cannot find better service and warmth than Punjab Express! I love ordering from them! 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️
I recently dined at Punjab Express for their buffet, and although the selection was somewhat limited, the food quality was exceptional! Every dish was carefully prepared, bursting with flavor, and made with fresh ingredients. I'll definitely be back for the delicious food
I recently had lunch at Punjab Express in Boston, and the experience was great. The buffet had a variety of delicious options, and the *malai kofta* was rich, flavorful, and went perfectly with the rice. The samosa added a nice crispy touch to the meal. But the star of the meal for me was the *kheer* —so creamy and just the right amount of sweetness! Overall, the food was really satisfying, and the ambiance made the whole experience even better. Kudos!
They wrote 10% student discount for Dinner on their menu. We requested for that. However, they charge full amount and no discount given. When we asked the reason our attendant told they will do the adjustment at night. This is ridiculous. Not accepted. I ordered Mutton Roganjosh. There are hardly any meat, full of bones. Kabab Dosa was not crispy at all. Puri was very oily and not puffy. Only the butter chicken was acceptable.
